My wife (then-girlfriend) loved my NA Miata so much after having me teach her to drive manual in it that she bought her own for a college car.
Every couple of months we would swap Miatas-- mine was red and hers was mariner blue. We sold mine after we got married and then we sold hers a few years later when we bought a new 2013 FR-S.
Loved those cars, might get the new ND with the targa top to replace our Civic.
