>Japanese "luxury" car
>>14755467
It's nice innit?
Just 'cause there's something with MORE luxury features doesn't mean that cars that aren't Mercedes don't qualify.

Germ here, I'd take a Lexus over a Shitcedes any day of the week. For a start, Lexi can be driven for 10 years without replacing every single part of the car and going in for repairs every 4 weeks.
Literally no Mercedes was ever made that didn't suffer from the most inane electrical problems. The other day at a workshop I overheard a C class from the early 00s coming back again after a few weeks for the same issue, SRS light and engine light.
Mercedes simply cannot build a car that doesn't go faulty after 8 to 10 years. And when it goes faulty once, it keeps going faulty again and again.
Pieces of fucking shit.
>>14755524
I heard that was only the late 90's and 00's models, the 80's were amazing and the 10's have been really reliable so far from what I've heard.
lexus isn't the most luxurious, but it will last a very long time.
Far longer than any shit tier BMW or Benz
but they are boring
>>14755551
>the 10's have been really reliable so far from what I've heard.
Meh, not better than average. At that point why wouldn't you just get a BMW or Audi?
>>14755554
This
Mine has 300,000+ miles, leaks every fluid, and hasn't had an oil change in 2 year(since it leaks/uses oil so fast)
At this point I'd would be stupid money wise to fix it, I'm just seeing how long it will go
>>14755565
I definitely would get a BMW instead, Audi if I was in my 40s and had erectile dysfunction.
Though modern BMW's fuck you up for repairs constantly aswell tho, my parents have been driving relatively new 3-series' and an M5 since 1998, and even though we all love BMW, the repairs have always been horrible in our experience.
I do think Mercedes has its' charms though, and I'd love to drive one for long cruises and travel.

Shame about the exterior design.

5/10 for getting me to reply desu
I like most of that interior.
>buttons are too big left of the driver, lots of wasted plastic
>glossy plastics look good in photoshoots, but suck IRL, remove them
>clock in between the air vents doesn't really do anything for me (digital clock on the infotainment screen and somewhere in the instrument cluster is superior).
>>14755467
>waaa it doesn't have buttons fucking EVERYWHERE
>where the fuck is my facebook integration?
>why does the infotainment screen not cover 90% of my dashboard?
>THERE IS NOT ENOUGH CHROME EFFECT
What the fuck? I actually thought Lexus was German
>>14755758
This except the clock. That's a luxury car tradition, and though I don't live this example of it, I think it needs to stay.

That's what Toyota was going for.
Lexus ‘has no meaning at all. It’s just a made-up word. Something a New York advertising firm came up with in response to Toyota’s request for a name that sounded high class and meaningful, with a nice ring to it.
>>14755524
My 2004 E class actually shows a passenger air bag failure occasionaly but honestly I could not care less. Everything functions as it should.
>>14756294
That's good. They derive their own meaning. This is exactly what Rolex did. A previously meaningless word that can be pronounced easily in most languages and unmistakable for anything else.

Ahotty = shitty
Japanese luxury car Lexus aka Toyota with leather.
Not bad.
Not bad at all.

They didn't make a third gen ISF though
Someone please explain the modern Lexus front-end design to me. I don't understand.

The spindle grille is a callback to when Toyota made sewing machines.
No, really. That's why it is the way it is.

Lexus hasn't been boring since the LFA really. Sure breads and butter cars like the ES still exist, but then again, so to cars like the Merc E400 Cabriolet and fwd BMWs.
>>14757820
I imagine the next LFA is going to have a spindle grill (of course) and cupholders.

Back in the early-mid 00's my mother had an E-class that spent a lot of time in the shop and eventually got fucked in a shallow, freak flash flood less than a year into the lease since all the electronics were housed pretty low in the chassis.
Luckily she didn't eat the cost since it was a business lease and ended up replacing it with a Lexus.
DESU I see Lexus as more of a safe, owners daily driver that you can keep for a long time, but if you have the kind of cushy job that comes with a company car or you're a small business owner you may as well go for a Benz or BMW since you're not paying the maintenance costs anyway.
>>14755551
>the 10's have been really reliable

A car buddy of mine works in service department at a Mercedes dealership. So this is what I've heard from him:
They've designed the cars so you have to bring them to a dealer for the most inane stuff. Battery get disconnected or drained? Car goes into limp mode and you have to get it reset by a Mercedes dealership for an astronomical fee. Hundreds, he's seen dealers that charge $800 for that shit. Sure you'll eventually be able to get an independent "Mercedes Specialist" to do the job for half the dealer cost. But why?
This buddy drives Lexus cars btw.
>>14756286
This makes my dick hard
>>14755467
It looks nice. What's your point?
Is this another one of Herman's dumb bait threads?
My daily.

>Battery get disconnected or drained? Car goes into limp mode and you have to get it reset by a Mercedes dealership for an astronomical fee.
I can't tell if Mercedes-Benz is the most evil or most intelligent company out there. Or both.
