How in the fuck is this even possible? How does the DMV create a line even on the fucking internet? Why does this state suck so hardcore?

FUCK!

this is why i'm always confused by any kind of socialist rhetoric

>go to take my snowmobile test (course & written test, no physical driving test)
>appointed an hour a week ahead as I have to drive 1.5 hours to get to it
>get there
>oh sorry, we are replacing monitors today so no tests
>and no, we didn't send out messages because that is handled by another department which is closed today

>snowmobile test
Aren't they pretty much unregulated?
Here they aren't even considered vehicles

Unregulated? Here in Norway they're basically fucking forbidden outside of use for work or emergency services

You're not even allowed to drive one freely on your own ground unless its something like cropfields or similar as its considered "inside land". Your own forest, privately owned road, private lake and so on is considered "outland" and illegal to use any form of engine-powered vehicle/transportation in outside of very specific work and tasks

The socialist empire of Norwegia says hello and thanks its citizens for not complaining about having to take a $850 license if they want to drive a snowmobile for the Red Cross

Sweden is much better with stuff like this. They have established and licensed snowmobile trails and free-roaming areas, much lower vehicle taxation, cheaper fuel, much cheaper licenses and so on

Norway is not a good place if you're into high-power vehicles, off-roading, trail biking or snowmobiling

Or just fucking /o/-stuff in general I suppose, you cannot really modify a vehicle at all, tons of retarded laws, most people cannot afford something like a Mazda 3 even with a fulltime job and low debt, road standard is quite low compared to standard of living, road salt fucks up everything, fuel is taxed very heavily, and the cities are now starting with banning diesel-cars on certain days, car-free city centers and sharp increases in road tax

Mind you on the diesel fuel, about 30 years ago and up until the last few years the government dropped taxes quite a bit on diesels as they were supposed to be a lot cleaner. This means that 8/10 passenger vehicles (and all tractors, heavy trucks, pickups and so on) are diesels, and now they are going to put the road tax, emissions tax, fuel tax and so on up even more so it might end up being more expensive than petrol

As for pricing... I'll just leave this here; base model Mustang GT with nothing added

>be 15 years old
>need to get my permit
>keep putting it off because my only local dmv has hundreds of one star reviews and almost no good reviews
>eventually give in and go to take the test a few months after I turn 16
>I pass and it only takes a couple of hours to get in and out

So basically I kept putting off getting my permit til I was over 16 because a bunch of whiny impatient fags felt like 2 hours at the dmv was worth a one star review

virtually every single human being who is existing in your state 16+ will use the DMV periodically, so...give it a second fag
>>
>be italian
>gubbament doesn't even know snowmobiles exist

That's no excuse for not designing their online system to handle the expected load. Seriously, think of how dumb it would sound if you were trying to pitch this to your boss:

>Hey Boss I made a new website for our company...
>Only problem is it can only handle 200 people using it at the same time
>Right now we have around 400 simultaneous users, but anyone over 200 gets a priority place in the virtual line!

You'd be fired almost immediately because that defeats the entire purpose of the web site. Their dumb slogan since they re-did the computer system has been "Get out of line by going online!", really you're still in line and it's still frustrating.

Also, virtually every single human being 13+ will use your mom periodically but she handles it fine.

>implying it's ever OK to have to wait 2+ hours to take a 20 question test and get a plastic card

>>14744740
I had that happen when I was 16, went to get my permit and they were upgrading the ID card printers.

>>14745262
I'm sure we're only a few steps behind that crap. I just got a letter with my jetski renewal telling me it's now illegal to water ski in this state unless everyone participating has a special water skiing license and a PWC endorsement on their boat license.

>>14745353
We're trying to kill the diesel here too. We're just doing it with emissions bullshit instead of fuel taxes. Obviously we never had the surge of diesel cars that the EU did but almost all our medium duty trucks became diesel-fied in the 80s, now more and more manufacturers are offering gas engines. Most people are sick of having to pull over in stop and go traffic so the particulate filter can regenerate for 20+ minutes and replace their fleet with gas-jobbers. Even UPS has started to go back to gas.
