>it's 2018
>early models at relatively high miles are dipping down in the low 20k territory
>for $1000 worth of tune and intake you can give it 230whp and 240wtq
>reliability reviews are really favorable, people have been driving them with basically no problems
do you buy it?
No, keep saving my shekels for a Nismo IDX, and die in the process.
No. Front end is just a literal mess of holes and plastic. Pre-riced.
Even with mazda chassis, Fix It Again Tony
Overpriced as hell.
Color scheme screams both boy ricer and boy racer
I'll wait when they're half that price and some decent body kits get developed. MAYBE then.
Nah. I'd be in the market for a Z4M Coupe if I had that money. The Fiata is a nice car but it doesn't do anything for me to wanna spend $20k on it.
>>14740805
Absolutely. If they'd given the US spec the proper power output from the factory that they told their dealerships they were going to, I would have even bought one new
>>14740805
I like it and it seems like a bretty gud roadster after the tune.
>>14740829
>mfw z4m coupe weighs 900lbs heavier
>>14740805
>$1000 for tune and intake
Is the intake so awful stock that an intake has any effect? Do we know who's providing the electronics? How tuneable is it really though?
Looking at Abarth 500s the best ones seem to make 220whp/260tq-ish numbers with the stock turbo.
I'm leaning towards 'no' at this point.
>>14740805
forgot to mention in this scenario
>the same tune on its sister car the 500 abarth with the exact same engine has had basically no issues either side from the occasional ignition coil going out sooner than expected
>>14740805
It won't be reliable
Why not just buy a miata they are better looking and hold their value well
No hardtop no buy

>Is the intake so awful stock that an intake has any effect?
the intake in the 500 is awful, same with the dual intercooling shit they used.
i don't think the fiata will have the same problems though, seeing as the engine bay has tons of room
Fer phux ache will you stop posting this same thread every goddamm day?
Also I'm in Commiefornia so that tune will no doubt be illegal and even if it wasn't there's a lot of better cars I could buy for $20k unless President Bernie decides to scraps all V8s.
>>14740885
>seeing as the engine bay has tons of room
thisx1000
the potential for super nonrestrictive intakes, much larger exhaust headers, and much larger/better intercoolers is huge
>>14740858
sodoku yaself
>>14740865
Yeah that's pretty nice, although that looks like an awful mechanism for tuning. Thank god for Cobb support and electronics is all I can say.
>>14740885
Interesting, I honestly didn't give the 500 Abarth a chance.
>dual intercooling
wut. Anyone running big turbo 500s with good results? How much aftermarket support?
I know I can google all these things but this is an obvious shill thread so earn your paycheck.
>>14740805
Buying a Fiat?
I'd rather become a true faggot than own and drive a Fiat.
>>14740836
Longpost Guy confirmed for being a closet faggot.

>>14740805

hell no
>>14740930
did you miss that I already own a fag-mobile?
>>14740805
20k for a toy? No
I would definitely buy it when it replace Saturn sky's current niche
>>14740938
That is a horrifying schematic. Is that the intake on top of the intercooler, mounted in front of the wheel wells? Is the front grill on a 500 functional for the radiator?
500 Abarth's must over heat like crazy.
>>14740995
don't really hear about them overheating, but gains have been made just by switching to a single front mount intercooler
>>14740945
At least it ain't a Fiat, and that's ok on my book.
>>14740805
it's 2008, wanted a miata
>don't get it it's gaaaaaay!
got it anyways, enjoyed the shit out of it and no one ever gave me shit irl for having one
it's 2016, now want an abarth fiata
>don't get it it's a fiiiiiiaaaaaat!
fuck you
>>14740805

Sure thing, champ. Let me know what happens after you're done clicking your heels 3 times.

Let me say it...citation needed?
I still wouldn't want a Fiata yet. It does nothing for me.
Does it have 50:50 weight distribution?
>>14741220
>only fiat parts are body panels, headlights/taillights, and engine
>by some christmas miracle the 1.4l multiair turbo is quite reliable.
it makes no sense but that's how it is
>>14740805
Except it's not going to be reliable. And 2016 ND's haven't gone below 25k
>>14743320
In 2018 they will.
>>14743143
Who's providing the electronics? I assume it has to be FCA since they are using their engine.
If it comes to america, I'm down.
>>14743342
The FIATA is going to depreciate like a brick once people realize how unreliable it will be
>JUST

>>14743353
engine electronics will be FCA but i bet every other module will be mazda because fiat wants to be cheap as fuck
>>14743394
How tune-able is the FCA ECU? Is their room for multiple-map slots like with Cobb or do you have to reflash every time you want to change your tune?
I also really dislike Mazda's infotainment electronics (not that FCA is any better), they just look awful to me.
>>14743424
mazda's infotainment is universally praised though, it's simple intuitive and fast to respond
no idea about the details of fca tuning though
