ITT: Post your recent vehicle purchases and what your plans are.

Sup Br/o/thers. So, I bought a 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. (Coupe, 5-speed).

The previous owner said it just had a bad fuel pump (We'll see about that). He sold it to me for $1700 shipped to my door on the back of a uhaul trailer.

I plan to just do some maintenance, rust repair, swap out some parts for some old STI parts I have laying around from my last impreza project.

>>14740278
That car is straight up factory rice.
>>
>>14740278
I mean 1700 is not bad for a 2 door even assuming the engine is cooked as long as the body is in good shape.

just don't expect to slap a pump into it and have it run. It will have a head gasket leak and if it got ran long a and hard with that leaking head gasket you gonna have all sorts of other issues

Bought last Friday for 3200. AC needs to be repaired and I need to replace the timing belt since it's been years since the owner last did, but the powertrain is in great condition and it runs fine at the moment.

I'm considering doing that sometime far down the line. The Porsche mechanic I got a PPI for it from has two 944 track day cars, one of which he LS swapped, so I'm in good hands there.

Bought a 2012 Altima 2.5S sedan 6spd manual last week (I guess they continued with MT in Canada). So far it beats my '05 civic that i traded in. Plan to drive it till i get a decent paying job, then thinking of getting a wrx.

ive only got a webm at the moment...it says i cant post because audio streams arent allowed?
also got some questions...I should only tow it on a flat bed since tis all time awd right? they say if you go under 20 mph for under 30 miles it shouldnt do much harm, but i know the svx trannys are already touchy. i also have the owners manual. ill see if i can scan and post some of that. its pretty interesting.
>>
>>14740968
Flat bed tow, or put the rear wheels on dollies. Or you could remove the driveshaft.

>Impreza RS coupe
muh dick

I got a GS-R Integra a few weeks ago.
Haven't decided if I want to get wheels, paint, or suspension bits first.

I want some enkei SR6 rims, then to drop my car about an inch, then paint it blue. (double benefit of looking better and lowering my insurance slightly).
Planning on removing the spoiler off it soon and peeling the plastidip off the mirrors.
Dunno where to start performance-wise. I had wanted to do an exhaust but I really don't care for fartcannons, I guess I could do some headers.
I want an intercooler but I won't be running an FI setup so I'd just feel ricey.

the head gasket problem is predictable down to a science and is a once a lifetime repair, if you are gonna have a wide spread problem its a decent one to have. just factor the cost of fixing that into the price of any subi you want to buy that hasn't already had the gaskets replaced and you are golden.

Hey guys, just purchased my first new car. 2016 FiST. I'm very happy with it so far, my other car was a 92 300zx but I keep having problems with it and needed a reliable car, still have the Z just going to work on it slowly as time goes by.
>>
>>14741148
I mean, that's kind of the reason I'm doing really simple, easy-to-revert mods right now.
Spoiler holes are going to be plugged so they can be re-used later on.
I'm keeping the wheels and the suspension system is in need of either a completely new OEM setup or an aftermarket one, so that's really the only relevant thing.

Shit's so stock it still has a cassette player.

>>
>>14741169
noice, thats what i was thinking about with the SVX i just bought. maybe do a tranny/engine swap to a 5 speed and a 90s EJ20G, since the transmissions are known to go on the SVX anyway. but anymods i do, i will definetly keep the old parts because SVX parts are hard to come by and if the car ever becomes collectible im sure stock ones will have some more value.

plan is to make this a dedicated track/autox car

trans/clutch/engine are all in good shape. just did timing belt/water pump/cam seals and rewired alternator. next step is handling: springs/shocks/bushings/etc. on the way.

I put down 4k out of 22k (2016 20 miles on it) I have horrible credit so I will be paying high 20's when all is said and done, but I also got the 100k bumper to bumper warranty.

So far I absolutely love the car, it is a very enjoyable car to drive as every video you look up of it says. The interior is "okay" but I really don't care about that... It has bluetooth and a touchscreen thats as far as I really care. I also love the modding options for the car, quite a bit of gains for very simple mods... overall I am very happy with what I got for how much I paid for it comparing it to the other cars I could have got for the same price this beats them in the "all around more fun" category....

Don't have a picture since its 4 am. But I just got a 2002 subie last week. 02 impreza 2.0l is what the vin says but the sti engine says 2.5l.Blown head gasket of course. Been sitting for 3 years the guy said. Was a project he said. There's literally 4000 dollars worth of turbos head gaskets, cams, intake and exhaust manifolds, full turbo back exhaust, tactrix cable, recaro buckets and 5 point harnesses. all for the low low price of 500 dollars. Can you say lucky? I guess he forgot about all the goodies in the trunk and the boxes of parts on the floor and backseat. But I guess if you don't look at a car for 2 years and it has dust on the windows so thick you can't see through them you kind of forget about that. I fucking scored! There's even a spare engine block and crank!
