Okay, thank you. Yeah that's what I did. Unfortunately on that part of the highway was a bit of a ways before it becomes two lane. And pulling to the side there is riskier than I would like because its a thin shoulder with lots of debris
After he passed me once it became two lane he went right up to the next guy and did the same thing. And on and on (my car is pretty tall so could see his progress for a while). So I guess nothing personal.

To expand, I used to slow down to try and make them pass, but several times the tailgater called me in for reckless driving (no tickets, but I'm tired of getting pulled over).
So now if they are close enough I can't see their headlights in my mirrors (20 feet back for most cars) I call the cops.
Nothing like the feeling you get when an unmarked peels a tailgater off your bumper.
It has markedly reduced the level of tailgating on the road I commute on, there's a reputation now that the cops look for tailgaters there.
