I would like a serious discussion about the Camaro. I want to know exactly why most Europeans get mad whenever it is mentioned. Now keep in mind I am not shit talking here, I am genuinely curious as to why this car pisses you all off so much.

The EU sets tariffs to benefit EU manufactures (surprise surprise). There not expensive for us because we're poor (well not in the west) but because everything comes with a protectionist tax on top.
I'm from Europe but I live in America. I've taken on a lot of American likes and interests, I love muscle cars, I love trucks, I love big engines. My issue with the Camaro is that it's expensive enough that I'd rather just get a much nicer German car. It's hard to explain to someone that hasn't owned a ton of cars, but American manufacturers don't have the quality feel that German and Japanese cars have. It doesn't matter what lap time the Camaro sets, because I'm not sixteen and I know that handling and feel matter a lot more than a number. It doesn't matter that it shed weight, because when you sit in it, it still feels like an American car.
It's gotten leagues better, but I'm honestly not a big fan of American manufacturers trying to compete with the Germans and Japs. I started liking old muscle cars because they were boats with big engines. American did that cheap but still fun and comfy deal pretty well. That's why I love newer trucks, they're affordable but comfy and nice to drive. I don't buy American for performance, I buy American because of the reasons I mentioned. What's the point of trying to catch up with the other big two countries if you're abandoning your own niche market for powerful boats and competing against countries that make far better products than you in every other field?
