you should use oil stabilizer and fuel injection cleaner(the ones you add in the gas tank) on high milage cars.

oil stabilizer helps keep your engine even more lubricated and helps against dry start and fuel injection cleaner breaks up carbon in the pistons and fuel injectors to keep the engine running smooth. i use it on my car 09 honda accord 80,00K
>>
>>14726857
Used to own a 240k mile 1999 BMW E46 328ci. Abused the hell out of the car, even went on a 800 mile trip on the Autobahn, pushed the car to the max several times. Never had a doubt in the car as the engine and transmission was running so good. Sold it as it needed a clutch change, but I met the current owner recently, he loves it, still running rock solid nearing 250k miles.
That's German engineering for you.

Don't. It's not necessary. If you use the correct oil a film of oil stays where it needs to be on startup. If the manufacturer doesn't say to use it, it' not necessary.

I dont get it.

Is your oil gauge/sensor broken, or are you just a retard?

Also, if that Jag is anything like a Ford, the oil gauge is nothing but a dummy gauge.
You an easily modify it to send a real signal tho.
Look it up.
>>
>>14730554
How do you like your mkiv? I've got a mkVI and it's a good car, has decent power compared to my corolla, but I've been having to fix a whole bunch of little stuff (taillight connector, buzzing speaker, air con delayed cooling, etc)
>>
>>14730669

Only had it just over a month, but loving it so far.

My previous was Ford. I hate the hard noisy "sporty" ride, the plasticy cheap interior.

The mkIV is so comfy and quiet. I know boy-racers hate that it's heavy and slow, but I don't care about that. Seems powerful enough to me. It's never gonna be a Honda Civic or Focus but who cares, it's more pleasant for daily use.

I dunno where the newer ones went, I heard the mkV got a load of shit for cheaping out on the interior and being even heavier.
>>
>>14730730
Yeah man! That's how I feel about mine haha, the interior is so far beyond the Ford's and Toyota's I've driven before. When I finally get it all fixed up, the 2.5l drivetrain will be solid and I'll be happy
>>
>>14727055
I don't think I could drive a car with a broken oil pressure gauge. My daily doest even have one, but having one that read zero would cause me fits

What "fuckhuge gas guzzling euphoria boat"
Does that mean that Golf 4 is not fuel efficient?
Because it is, 1.9 TDI is more fuel efficient then half of american cars, probably more

It's not a very common engine for the model. I think rebuilding it will be pricey.
>>
>>14731025
>not a very common engine for the model
Where do you live dude? The steering wheel and the fact you said this makes me think it's a 3.2 sport but that message by the gas gauge is American only. All of these cars sold in the states had the common 4 liter. Of course, if this is the weird crossover XJ40 that had that steering wheel, that's another story. I'd be surprised if an AJ6 lasted this long with no problems. An AJ16 will do 500k no problem without a rebuild.

Third? Why?

My 1998 explorer 5.0 has 218,000 miles and still runs. Well it's worn out and I run 10w-40 to quite the lifters but you can still hear them.

Point is, 5.0s never die.
>>
>>14734360
Haha, I should have known it was you. I'm the guy with the black VDP.

You keep sketching out about this car. I don't think you understand how reliable they are. As long as the CKPS doesn't go and you have gas in the tank, it'll run. Hell, I'm getting 25.6 mpgs in mine at the moment with a few simple mods. That's crazy for a 2 ton limo. Would you buy another one if it did kick the bucket though?
