When I install a fuel pressure regulator for a Carbed engine

When I install a fuel pressure regulator for a Carbed engine fed by an electric fuel pump, do I install the regulator near the Carb to compensate for head loss?

You install in the return line just after the carb. If you don't want a return line, get a mechanical pump.
