any e36 with an I6, put a turbo on it and have fun. if you want more safety since e36 were utter shit saftey-wise get an e46 328i. perform almost the same as a 330i but without the "enthusiast tax". turbo it and wreck shit on the autobahn. germany is full of pre-owned bimmers.

Had an e36 and a e46 and made everything by myself. If you have the place and some knowledge you can do everything on your own. If not, its rather expensive.
