If I want a manual, turbo (preferably 5cyl) Volvo wagon in the US, what are my options? I know there weren't any 850R's sold with manuals here. I was thinking a first or second gen v70r?

V50s had a manual option. Rare as hens teeth though

The V70R was available as a manual.

Honestly anon, they aren't worth it. The Volvo crowd is loaded and they'll price the good condition+rare trim (read: rust free+manual) v70rs out of your range. Some go for $15-20k.
On top of that you'll be stuck with an expensive to maintain, euro semiluxury (that looks 99% like euro budget bin except for the badge), on road only wagon. They look pretty but save yourself the pain and buy a subie or something.

Might be worth looking into assuming it's not too insanely complicated.

Yeah im kinda thinking that would be my best choice, like the one in the OP

Yeah i considered V50s and V40s but theyre both hard to find in any configuration it seems like

Oh I should also say if it's reasonably easy to buy a manual N/A 850 then turbo it I am fine doing that.

Look dude I've had lots of volvos and I don't think they're worth the trouble.
