Yes.

Don't buy anything from Becky. She's a cunt.
>>
>>14714046
Yeah but I was expecting it. It's an old car so the more a dig the more I spend, but there are very few things I really care about so it's easy to spend money on it.
>>
>>14714046
Paid $6500 for my yota, sunk another 6 into it.

Such is life with an old BMW.

Better than the stock market!

which car anon?

Yep. Becky scammed me. Fucking bitch i hope she breaks her legs

A-at least you had more fun than you'd have had with the stock market, right?

At least it was cheaper than renting for as long as I had it.

You can't short sell cars.

Well, technically you could if you borrow your friends, sell it, then buy another model and pocket'/pay out the difference.
>>
>>14715407
yep.

It's already happening with the truck I bought at the end of January.
>>
Yeah it did but it lead to some of the best times in my life riding around with my dad talking about all the little things to be taken care of. Naturally as soon as it became flawless my sister crashed it into a tree and the process began again except we couldn't ride it around for like a year. I think I'll have that thing around for the rest of my life just maintaining it for no real reason.

How. There's a story and I wanna hear it
>>
>>14716821
Probably crashed it, or busted it and sold for scrap.
>>
>>14716821

Engine finally gave out, probably blew a head gasket. Had it garaged for over a year, in the meantime getting a well-paying job reachable by bus. Since the garage space was needed, I just sold it to the first guy to look at it for whatever he offered. I hadn't driven it in so long and was making enough that I didn't really feel the financial loss.
>>
Yes I paid $1000 for a radiator and $500 to have it installed because I'm a dumb cunt

>>14716935
What did you buy, a solid gold radiator? Damn
>>
>>14714046
Yup. My first car cost £700, and needed two new tires to be road-legal. At least, so said the reputable mechanics I took it to for an inspection when I bought it. Then it needed rear tires a while later, followed by a new brake caliper, front lines, fluid, and pads when the front brakes jammed and cooked.
Then the rest of the brakes needed replacing to pass MOT inspection for the year.

I sold it not too long after that.

Buying a new car makes no sense to me.

Yes. My first Car was a Pontiac Grand Prix and after a year of owning it blew a head gasket and 4 cylinder heads, 3 of which had to be replaced and 1 resurfaced. Then 6 months later it threw a rod. The car was $6k when I bought it and if I had paid for the new engine the repairs would have been well over double that combined.Sent that shitheap to the scrap yard.

Dodged bullet on this

>Took over lease on a GTi from an idiot ex-friend that had to move
>Car was fine, he looked after it
>get to the point where his lease period was over, and I owed $7k if I wanted to buy it out
>was going to pull the trigger
>until the exhaust flex joint failed
>and the electronics bugs started popping up
>car was less than 1000 miles past warranty on the parts

Gave them the keys and told them to fuck off
>>
>>14716647
>buy car for 3300
>drive it for ten years and keep it in good shape, nothing gives out
>get in one accident where I'm not at fault after all that time, screwed up a rear quarter and the front bumper
>basically totaled, get 2300 for it but keep the car ($2800 value, $500 less to keep vehicle and clean title) and fix it up for a few hundred bucks worth of stuff from the scrap yard
>Only ever had to put two sets of tires on it, a new soft top and a clutch over the years other than regular maintenance stuff.
>Put a few hundred more the last couple months in a lift, a hard top, new bumper and wheels

I'm going to drive this bitch until it dies. Miles were so low on it originally, I'm still only at 77k.

It's not the best on fuel, but it's so fucking nice to drive. It'll be even better when I finish the suspension bushings.

>buy 50cc motorscooter for 300 in ass-backwards state
>it's a twostroke so it never can really 'break', it just runs louder, stinkier and uglier more and more the more unmaintained it goes
>sink like 150 at most into it for basic maintenance like new brake pads, brake fluid (which is the only fluid this thing tanks that it doesn't just burn and blast out the exhaust), a few basic fixes like new turn signal glass and new light bulbs, weld a massive hole in the exhaust shut
>essentially runs like it ran factory stock again, and this thing is 17 years old
>mfw I don't know what to do with it now

I mean, technically speaking, I should probably sell it and get something better, but given how utterly basic and unbreakable the tech in this thing is and how little it costs to own it I feel like I might as well keep this as an heirloom until I die. I see it needing a new piston in a few years and that's about that. New tires for the thing cost 30 bucks apiece new and I can do literally ALL maintenance for it with my own two hands, including an eventual engine swap if I wanted to.
