I want to buy a daily that's both classy as fuck and also has some power.
My budget is flexible, 30-120k.
I've been thinking about a 300SEL 6.3 with a 6.9 driveline swap, and later on maybe a 4L60E instead of the ancient 3spd fluid coupling/4spd non-locking auto.
I'll be frank here, non-American classics absolutely suck for restomods because nothing bolts up to anything. If you want to make modifications or have modifications made, go American. There's mount kits and adapter plates for everything. You can probably find mid-50s Cadillacs already restomodded with modern engines, brakes and suspension for reasonable money.
Restomods or whatever you call them are fucking stupid.

I think he was offering OP the opportunity to end up with a functional vehicle rather than a hacked up worthless piece of shit that will never run due to the need for fabrication and engineering or a foolishly expensive project due to someone actually doing all the fabrication and engineering. That said, OP is never going to do anything about this.
>De Tomaso Deauville
the engine and gearbox are Ford so I guess something will fit?

ur mum wont thats for sure

You're fucking stupid. A well executed restomod will leave the vehicle visually stock (minus wheels and ride height maybe), but improve all the mechanical bits underneath. What's fucking stupid is pro touring with their wannabe race car landbarges.

There's nothing classy about daily driving an old car.
>Cool... Yes
>Fun... Yes
>Tryhard... Depends on the car
>Classy... Nope
If you're looking for classy, go with a new Mercedes or Audi. In black. Something luxurious, but understated.
An SEL or 50's era Cadillac screams "LOOK AT ME". It's not classy, it's gauche.

spotted the teenage girl

Eh. There are some who feel like modern cars don't quite have the same level of class as classics. Besides everyone and their mothers daily-drives a new Mercedes, but a classic is an attention-getter that's almost exotic.
