My budget stretches to an R53 Cooper S or an R56 Cooper with about 80-100k miles on the clock.
The newer cooper will be cheaper to tax and insure, be much more fuel efficient and a 9.1 second 0-60 isn't bad.
Is a Cooper S really that much better?
the cooper s is a blast to drive, but only when you drive it hard. my gf has a cooper s (2014 i think) and the motherfucker is fun to drive on windy roads. The non-s is a guttless turd

why are all the 13 cars red?
2013 was that bad for all manufacturers?
>>14712417
red means good
>>14712417
nevermind now i see it's all just parts of one car. i never thought one car could be that bad and just assumed it was different cars on the left side

I owned an r56 MCS and I now own an R53. I love the R53 so much more. R53 is definitely more of a driver's car. That said, the R56 justa will be much more reliable than the S from any year.
>>14712434
What year do you have?
I was under the impression that 05 and 06 R53s weren't bad in terms of reliability, but that 07-10 took a nosedive with the r56.

I owned a 2007 that was a nightmare. I now own a 2006 that I adore. You're right about the r56; the S models were terrible until 2011.

JUST FUCK ME UP
We spent $4500 on my wife's R57 last year.
Fucking POS. Women and cars.

They're not wrong. A pillar exterior trim came loose and the nvh inside was terrible. Lots of rattles.
