What are /o/'s thoughts on the Buick brand of cars? I know, I know
>GM

But some older LeSabres (91+) look so freaking comfy inside. The seats look so comfy. Anyone here own a Buick (91-2006)?

Friend of mine owns a 98 le sabre and he has let me drive it around at night when they are drunk and it is very comfy. It is actually extreme comfort mobile. It's pretty quick too. Just make sure you get one that's been taken care of. His has 190,000 miles on it.

Is it bad that looking at that photo makes me sleepy?
>>

My friend has a 92 regal. Its like riding in a lounge desu.
>>
The MPGs must be awful, no?
>>
I have a 2001 lesabre. I love it. Super comfy, everything is soft and disconnected, it's a calm ride.
Don't get me wrong I have other cars, but y love that for cruising.
>>
>>14703341
OP here. I'm looking for my first car. Dad had a 91 LeSabre that was a beauty but he unfortunately junked it after some electrical issues I believe. I dunno, I was like 5 years old when he did that.

I'm 24 now and I know it may seem weird for young man like myself to drive o e of these cars targeted for older folks, but I dunno... I like the way they look. Nice, subtle luxury and small hints of elegance.

Around my area, there are plenty available under 100K miles and being sold for around $2500. I may jump on one. Just wanna know as much as I can about em and what their common issues are, and if it'll be expensive in the long run.
>>
>>14703364
A small 90 degree elbow on the passenger side of engine just beneath the intake that will blow. That's a coolant passage. $10 and an hour to replace.
Engine is a tank otherwise. No serious problems, normal wear parts. Got mine for 1200 with 86k on it from a police auction. Lucked out.

Got it. Noted. Thanks anon.
I just posted in the VIN thread to get a report on this.
http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/cto/5505383043.html

94 LeSabre, 80k, $1200. Really hope it's got a nice clean record.
>>
>>14703467
The only gripe I have with it is

>what are subwoofers

I mean, shouldn't a Buick have a good sound system?
>>
90s are okay, newer Buicks make me want to fucking vomit I'm a marketingfag and even I'm not sure what their place in the market is anymore
>>
>>14703207

>>
>>14703207
My grandma had a 94 LeSabre. Very comfy inside and actually drove pretty nice (if you like a boat-like ride). Overall it was pretty reliable; that Buick 3800 was built pretty well. Around the end she started seeing some coolant leaks and stuff though.
>>
>>14703483
My grandma's 94 wasn't that good. I'm an audiofag, but I don't think that even normal people would find it that good. It had a lot of upper bass, but basically no sub-bass. The mids and highs weren't very crisp either, and sound separation and soundstage was lackluster.
>>
>>14703445
Yeah hopefully they're smart enough to nab one with the 3800. Or SC3800

I owned a 96 LeSabre for a couple of years

>Super comfy
>Decent mpg
>added two 12 inch subs and a 1000 watt amp so I could set car alarms off with my sound system.
>Drove six people to San Diego with only the person sitting in the front center being mildly uncomfortable

Cons
>electrical nightmare
>security system kept being set off and literally blew out the horn
>tail light melted to the frame
>overdrive quit after the 2 month of owning it, but didn't affect it that much over the 2 years i had it.

Was a good car, but could have been better. Never had engine trouble though. that 3800 was the most solid part of the car.

Also if you crash a Le Sabre and hit a curb you can be thrown into the center arm rest, then the roof, which can dislocate your shoulder, then thrown into the door to then relocate your shoulder

>pic is what i traded my lesabre for
>>
>>14703207
Old people cars.

Slow, kind of nice and shitty MPG
>>
>>14705058
Bull shit. Pretty good mileage from te lighter ones. I had a 98 century getting 26 average. Not bad for a pig fat v6 sedan.

OP here. My mom just told me that if I bought that car, and if my girlfriend actually and willingly entered the vehicle with me on a ride, that it would be a true testament to her love for me and would mean she really likes me.

I dunno what to do here anons. It's so cheap. Not even 80k miles. Fuuuuuark. I know it's an old person car but it's such a cheap ride. It's either this or try to save up for a Mazda6 or Lancer. Or a nice sports car a youngster would drive
>>

I had a 90 Buick lesabre. It was comfy but I was relocated at work so I had to sell it. The 14 mpgs were killing me.

It's not fast or anything, but the v6 is pretty quiet and it's a nice commuter.

Not huge on the looks but >My Opinion

OP here. Called up the seller, told me the car wasn't at his place, but rather in the parking lot of a mall. Lmao. Says he bought a new car. So I drove to the lot and went to go see it. Looked nice, no rust at all. Scratches and scuffs of course, but all in all looks nice. I do wonder how long it's been there though. Tires could use a little air.

Unfortunately it's a boring tan color, and unfortunately I didn't get to drive it. But the test drive will be the deciding factor. Yes it looks like a grandpa car, but man >that price

Older ones the definition of grandpa cars. They're comfy, but that is the ONLY redeeming quality. Everything else is mediocre. Not terrible cars, but frankly, there are better looking, faster, better handling and more economical cars for the same price.

7th and 8th gen LeSabres are elder gods tier if you take half decent care of them. Pic related, on the original engine and transmission.
>>
>>14703483

The 97+ lesabres with the Concert sound II have a pretty good sound system. To boot, the Delco radios are a half hour job to wire an aux cable into the tape circuit. But you'd better be good with a wrench and a soldering iron.
