Viper is the only reason they hold my interest.

in 2017 that will no longer be however and so goes just another large auto-group. I wonder what they'll do with the SRT team when they are no longer working on the Viper.

Italy is seen as a "soft" country, probably due to the language.
A lot of people here want to be hard.
Italians are seen as flamboyant, a lot of people here are uptight nerds who hate fun and happiness.

Also their track record of reliability makes them easy to make fun of, and people here don't value soul and passion and prefer something that just gets them to A to B without too much drama.

That said the few FCA fanboys on here come across highly delusional and a bit thick.

Problem with FCA is that each and every single car brand that's part of it is one you kinda want to root for, but then they fail you in the end, disappointing you time and time again.

Fiat
>underpowered the 124 Abarth
>keeps to FWD shitboxes
>bloated the 500, exploited it's name

Ferrari:
>became asshole
>removed all driver involvement
>went turbo and hybrid
>sold out with a 4WD family car and a cheap-ish V6 roadster

Maserati:
>SUV's
>brand dilution
>no supercars anymore

Alfa
>finally making a RWD car
>keeps postponing it
>makes SUV's, city cars
>overpriced the 4C
>shitty DCT's and gimped engines

Lancia
>dead

Chrysler
>minivans
>killed of their compacts

Ram
>bloated styling
>pure distilled MURRIKAH without advancing their engine lineup

Jeep
>The fucking Renegade
>no small pickups

Last, but not least, Dodge
>no SRT-4 Dart
>About to kill the Viper
>made the Hellcats pigfat
>refuses to build aluminium blocks
>no V6 roadster

Also, most infuriatingly, they've got a better pushrod V8 than the LS - but they don't even try to get the engine swap popularity. No alloy blocks, no easy EFI systems, no support, nothing, at least not a fraction of the LS, despite the 3rd gen Hemi being completely superior in terms of airflow and internals.

It is, but it's the non-Jeepiest Jeep ever. Pic related would be tolerable, but they're just reworked Fiats.

An all-electric Wrangler would also be neat as a trailcrawler, but FCA wouldn't even touch that.

>>14703319
If they have a superior product, and don't do jack shit with it, and actively make electronics packages that are impossible to get into, it sucks.

I don't get why Chrysler just doesn't become Fiat in north america? They could have probably saved a shit ton of cash by doing so.
>>
>>14703401
Because Fiat has a worse brand iamge than Chrysler.
>>
When Fiat and Chrysler merged, it was a marriage of the worst quality European automaker and the worst quality American automaker. Both companies had long ago decided to to sell their cars based on price, and not quality. Even Ferrari decided to sell their cars on prestige and exclusivity, and not quality.

weirdly, the renegage is more jeepish than most of the lineup.
its kinda heavy for its size since its built up pretty tough, it rock crawls way, way better than it has any right to, the engine is small but geared almost entirely for torque....

Chrysler loves to pack technology into their cars. They make excellent engines (with some exceptions), but they're coupled to overbearing computer monitoring and control, especially their automatic transmissions.

Frankly, I thought it was funny that a company that had so famously partnered up with the worst-quality Japanese automaker and managed to shit out several respectable cars, now partners up with an Italian brand world-famous for their unreliability during the '70s and '80s.

What has changed is that it's easier to build technologically-advanced cars. Computer systems have become more rugged, manufacturing processes are more strict, and a partnership with another international company is forcing them to adopt international standards for repair and diagnostics. As a result, their cars are more reliable and easier to fix.

That doesn't stop Chrysler's infamous """"""""build quality"""""""" from showing through, if you get one, break out a ratchet and check every bolt.
>>
>>14703461
Shit, that looks tempting. Not sure if I should upgrade injectors first.

>>14703437
it's probably so that it can run on low-octane gas.
The Dart wants 91 or better, but will cut boost and run fine (just slower) if you put in 87. Blame the American consumer for not really knowing what octane does and why some engines need more.

on the upside, if the Dart can be flashed to 210 HP on stock internals, the Fiata sure as hell can too.
>>
>>14703537
that tune runs on stock everything i believe, not a single upgrade needed aside from gapping the spark plugs to a specific value.
they also "recommend" a proper intake, which is probably nice to have anyway

also the fiat version of the engine is somewhat different, for instance the abarth 500 version of that same tune only does like 196/205, although there is a "phase 2" with some bolt ons in the works that'll get it to 230/220

with any luck, the 124 version of the engine will be more like the Dart and less like the 500 abarth for higher power potential

The American 500 Abarth actually has the same 160 HP Multiair Turbo as the Dart.
The European version, which only makes 133 HP, is simply the same engine but without electrohydraulic valve lifters.

Fuck passion. If that is a comfortable estate with big enough trunk and 120hp multijet diesel, that is sold with a price of a Skoda Rapid, it is going to succeed. It could be the next step towards comfort from Dacia Logan MCV for people too cheap to invest in an Astra or Focus.
>>
>>14703640
hmm, might be the intake and exhaust geometry or something then, but the dart definitely has more tuning potential than the 500 abarth
