I WANT MORE FUCKING POWER

I drive a 2008 Mustang GT with a supercharger and basic bolt ons. I put down 455rwhp and I still fucking lose roll races. I've lost a race to an m5 a couple days back and just lost a race to an Aston Martin db9 on the highway.

I've put so much time and money into my car but fuck man, I want more power already. My best 1/4 time in my car was 11.97 but I want more man. I want to get into the 9s. The quench for more horses just never dies. You are satisfied but then when someone with a faster car tries you, your shit gets blown the fuck out.

I wish I would have gotten a 5.0 Mustang so I could have more horses to start out from.
>>
Just buy a liter bike and thank me later. There's literally no point in chasing endless horsepower in cars, just because there's almost always SOMEONE faster than you. It just turns into a competition into who can piss away more money and time than time spent improving driving skills.
>>
Tin can it and cut power everything
>>
>>14701207
you'll never be the best so stop taking it so seriously. if you're going to build a car, build it to have fun.
>>
>>14701207

You lost to some top of the line cars that are worth many times yours, that's not a bad loss at all. Especially if you kept up with them. Richfags will always have an edge.

>He thinks two cars flooring it on the highway is a legitimate competition worth spending thousands of dollars in modifications to increase the likelihood of winning, despite the fact it's by complete chance you run into another car on the highway to "race" with and there's always a chance it'll never be a car powerful enough to have even beaten your old setup again thus rendering your money-spending moot
>>
>>14701219
>14701219
This is my fun nigger. Driving recklessly and racing with stupid amounts of power is my idea of fun. The thrill of going 175 down the i-95 swerving through traffic with another idiot next to me trying to get in front is my idea of fun.
It doesn't help that my car likes to instigate races on it's own ( red + fat ass black wheels + o/r h pipe ).

>sell POS-era stang

you literally picked the worst mustang that's not pre-80's to wrench on mate.

glad I never got the speed bug

I have shit tons of fun in lightweight 80whp shitboxes on backroads

highway racing is gay af btw

i don't approve of dipshittery like OP is condoning but carving is bloody fun.

Thats where you fucked up.
>>
>>14701243
I do it all the time its the only way to make highways interesting

roll racing isnt that tho its barely above stoplight street racing
>>
>>14701235
i got my ls1 tuned for response and THATS it

maf delete, otr and exaughst.

300rwhp in a 3700lb car is more than enough
>>
Supercharge AND turbocharge the fucker.
>>
>>14701224
I got the m5 real good on the red light. We were neck and neck. Then we got on the highway and he fucked up my shit at around 90-100mph. I just didn't have enough pull in my higher gears.

The Aston Martin got me in the top speed. I didn't even know how fast I was going because my speedo tops out at 150 but I estimate I was going around 175-180 before I started getting aerodynamically destroyed. 150 in 5th gear is 4100rpms and I was hitting 5500 before I just stopped gaining speed and he just kept going.
>>

Pully down, fgt.

you just said highway racing, so i misunderstood, cheers mate.

I'm about to build my 2006. Gonna get the engine and trans built to handle a high amount of HP, slap on a procharger, and have it tuned to around 700whp. Gonna cost around 10k, but it'll be sick!

Probably. I just got a massive speeding ticket but I can't cure my addiction. I don't know if anyone here can relate to it but it's just so addicting man. Like a high. I know it's dangerous and stupid but I still do it anyways. Swerving through traffic at high speeds and racing side by side along other cars down through entire towns with the cops not being able to do anything is just exhilarating. The adrenaline you get is unreal. Especially that fight or flight feel you get. I've ran from the cops numerous times ( only at night ) in the past 3 years and I don't think I'm going to stop.
>>
>>14701207
why not do shorter gearing and/or cut weight? doesn't cost that much for either option and you will go faster.
>>
>>14701288
You should stop before you kill someone and get put it away in prison you fucking dolt. What you're doing is incredibly dangerous and you really should have your license revoked.
>>
>>14701283
That's not how shitposting works either
>>
>>14701292
Cutting weight won't do much man. I already have racing seats and my trunk stripped. Backseats are still there because they only weigh like 20lbs and worth it because I use them quite a lot.

Getting shit like a carbon fiber DS or lightweight aluminum wheels is just so cost prohibitive. Might as well have gotten an engine swap from the beginning. Keep in mind this thing is my daily driver.

Also, I run stock 3.55 gears. I use to have 4.10 gears and they pull like crazy but the car tops out A LOT less than 3.55.
>>
>loses to legit cars
>pouts about it

Why don't you just try race what's in your league? (Holden GTOs, Fifth gen Camaros, etc)

I drive a VR6 Jetta and I put down about 300 horsepower and Im always getting rekt by guys like you. I just have fun destroying ricers and good legit competition.

Win or lose, you just gotta have fun man.

this. i raced against a guy on a GSX-R 600 in an Audi TT. Knew i was gonna lose going into it but there was no money on the line, just cruising down the highway, so we ran them. sometimes it's just about getting to run your car wide open

build the motor + tranny and swap the blower for a turbocharger (or two) and hold onto your purse, faggot.
>>
>>14701211
The answer has been here since the first post. Any supersport liter bike is going to obliterate 99.999% of what is on the road to 150 mph, and by the time you hit 150 youre so far gone that even if theyre trying to pull on you at that speed youve pretty much run out of road. So unless theyre in a multi-million dollar hyper car, or some wannabe F1 car like the ariel atom, youll almost always win provided you can launch well.

Best part? You can get a reliable and new jap liter for 14-15k. Get a new, less reliable but also less common european one for 18-20k. Find used of both for 8k in amazing condition. Fuel economy goes up, lanesplitting makes trip times go down, maintenance goes way the fuck down especially if youve done a bunch of mods to your car. Insurance might (will) also go up, but how much depends on how old you are and whats on your driving record.
>>
try driving on a real track or road that actually has curves and stuff. Driving becomes more about personal skill rather than who can spend the most money at a performance shop for power.
>>
>>14701710
This so much this.

i only put 2k into my engine and 3k in tyres suspension

Bruh.

Maybe if you had a 2014+Shelby GT
You're not gonna get there in a 2008 without a new engine and more mods than you paid for the car

Its because you have a 2008 GT and not the 2015+ GT

mustangs are fucking shite mate, you should have got a different car.

Most reputable drag strips have a lower limit usually 9-10 seconds where they start requiring licenses to run

Drag strips must be a bitch to insure because they have every redneck and their cousin wanting to die in under 10 seconds in their 2008 mushdang gee tee

Are you still running the stock 5spd? If so he has much better gearing and that's why he was able to pull you in the top end.

Mustangs 5spds have always had quarter mile gearing since the T5. A T56 swap would net you a big gain in the top end due to much closer gearing for 3rd-5th than the Tremec 3650 gives you.
>>
First off that m5 has 550 at the crank and it probably has better gearing too

The Aston undoubtedly has a dog shit engine but it is a large v 12 so it's making a good amount of power so

I hate to break it to you but a car running 12 flat isn't really a street weapon like you think it is. You won't beat a stock c6 z06. Supercharged cts v stock will be a dead heat to you. You'll clown on 98 percent of ppl but you should look into built internals so you can raise your supercharger pressure

This is the most reasonable post, get ported and polished top end, forged internals then get a smaller pulley and belt and build the boost. What psi are you running ?

My car is already on the verge of undrivable with the power and torque it makes
But I'm still budgeting for the 850whp setup
It's an addiction dude, get a liter bike while you can
>>
>>14704005
Constant mesh gearbox, not needed for upshifts. Just slightly lift on the throttle.
>>
>>14704092
Thank you :)

Be ready to pay for some 4340 rods, crank, low comp forged pistons and in the meantime, throw some NOS on it.

9's is harder than it sounds though. You're gonna be breaking rear ends, needing slicks, built trans, still popping motors and it will almost certainly take NOS. 11.97 is badass for a stock bottom end IMO.

If you're gonna stick with the 3v/alum block setup, research the limits and build a reliable set up around that.

A forged bottom end and 700-750 engine HP in that 3550 pound car will be beating any production v8.

As others have stated, eventually some rich fuck that doesn't care about blowing motors will roll up with some expensive shit, like a huge displacement NOS car, or some crazy light turbo/nos shit and wreck ya. So what. There will always be shit thats even way faster than them.
>>
>>14705529
And a boosted/built mod motor can be surprisingly reliable, even with an abusive driver and go high mileage. I'm talking well over 100k.

Your typical 3rd gen mullet mobile or built fox that is a bottle baby and built to rev high as fuck isn't even a reliable street car when actually abused daily. They'll take it to the track, make a bunch of passes, go fayust cause they are set up to get great 60 foots, and then throw rods and break trans/diffs.However, SBF and SBC is nice and cheap to build.

Just from what i've experienced. Sure the 5.0s are great, but there are high quality bottom ends available for the modular motors (4.6 sohc/dohc) AND they're reasonably priced.

Last bit of advice, don't be getting ripped off by a bunch of cokeheads that won't even take responsibility for their mistakes (timing, bearing clearance and so on).

INB4 flamed for being literally the only person ever on this forum that gives helpful advice. You want help? go to the actual stang forums man. good luck
