I just did a test drive in the new Fiat Tipo. Ask me anything, I guess. Will dump random pictures.

It was fine, of course it's not supposed to be sporty or anything but I've driven it on a windy country road and it was good. Suspension is comfy but you did notice some wind noise

what did you expect? A new sports car hero? It costs fucking €11k, what else costs around 11k? A VW Up and a Renault Clio? It's the same size as the Audi A3 sedan and quality is good, especially if you consider the price. Also, there's more space in the back and the trunk is bigger. Of course you can get nicer engines in the A3 and I'm sure it drives better but you can buy a Tipo, drive it for 4 years and buy another one for the same money. I don't really see anything wrong with it.

sure thing

How's automatic gearbox? Some say that 1.6 drinks a lot so it's a pointless engine for that car.

According to spritmonitor, the 1.6 multijet has an average consumption of 5,65 L/100 km.
http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/overview/1-Alfa_Romeo/1190-Giulietta.html?fueltype=1&vehicletype=1&constyear_s=2008&constyear_e=2016&power_s=105&power_e=120&powerunit=2
The one on the Giulietta had 105 hp (now has 120 hp).

I don't know, you can only get the automatic in the 1.6 petrol but I've driven the diesel. But Fiat says the 1.6 automatic isn't any faster really than the 1.4 manual.
0-100 kph times and top speed are:
>1.4 16V (95hp)
11.5s
185 kph
>1.6 E-torQ automatic (110 hp)
11.2s
192 kph
>1.3 MultiJet (95 hp)
11.7s
180 kph
>1.6 MultiJet (120 hp)
9.7s
199 kph
