The sti lags behind the wrx just by a tad until 4000 rpm when its turbo spools up. 245 poundfeet at 3800 for the wrx AND YET less that 800 rpm later the STi makes more torque and continues to make more torque all the way to the top. You do the sti sacrifices low en power by having a big turbo for high end power, its vice versa for the wrx.
Calling the EJ unreliable is completely wrong, only guys who don't know the ins an out of this particular engine blow them up, like kids who put atmospheric dump valves on em. It is a gas guzzler tho but I make money so IDC.
