camaro visibility only gets worse by the year

i can expect the 2020 model to have no rear window at all

I think they will preably use a modded version of the LT1 to get it to about 530hp

Cars will never be featherweights again. These last 2 generations want the government to protect them from life.

For the new Z28 can they stay naturally aspirated like the old one? the old one was powered by an LS7 which i heard had zero of the valve-dropping issues of the early LS7s so it was pretty based (not to mention sold out almost as soon as it released) Since the ZL1 uses the LT4 it'd be interesting if they can somehow go NA on this one since i want it to set it self apart from the other Camaros.

>>14696004
>>14696014

Yea the old Z28 (zeta platform) weighed around 3,900 pounds which the Camaro team didn't want to use so this is like the platform they've been dreaming of. (alpha weighs around 3,600) which is around the same as a BMW M3/4.

Its also safe to say the new Z28 will have lightweight options such as carbon fiber air-con delete much like a 911 GT2 RS

It may be "light", but it LOOKS fat. Whoever designed those tiny windows is a fucking retard. And the whole design team as well since they gave the green light for it.
>>
>>14696203
They said they didn't change the design to much because they boomers they asked said they rather not be able to see out of it than to change the styling

ZL1 just released and now the Z/28 is around the corner.

Even the 5th-gen Camaro had a couple of years between the two.
>>
>>14695916
>What engine do you guys think chebby will put in this thing?

Hopefully it's a more tuned version of the last gen Z/28. The LS7 is an awesome motor.
>>
>>14696965
A direct-injection LS7 (LT7?) making 525-550 HP would be ideal, however I feel like they would have debut that in the C7 GS.
>>
I hope it keeps the stock V8, maybe a different tune or more open exhaust, maybe some Headers in the trunk like you could get with the 67 Z28. If anything, they should Destroke it just as a heritage thing with the original Z28.
>>
>>14696014

And those who don't get called crazy.

>If anything, they should Destroke it just as a heritage thing with the original Z28.
That's not a bad idea. They could put in a street-legal version of the C7.R's 5.5L V8. That would give it around 500 HP.
>>
>>14695965
Still a shit solution
>>
>>14697041
I also like the idea to shut up the
>pushrods can't rev
>6000 RPM redline
Faggots
>>
>>14696998
Maybe now that the camaro team supposedly can do whatever they want, they can add they're own engine instead of just using corvette engines

>>14697041
Well in order to that they would need to change a lot of stuff to make it meet emissions standards and such.

It would probably be a lot easier to add a more aggressive cam and a tune to the LT1 to get it to 500hp. That's pretty much what they did with the LS6 in the c5 z06. That's the option that makes the most sense and I think that's what they'll end up doing

pushrods push gods

no replacement for displacement

Where did you get 4000 lbs from? Even an SS is just under 3700.
>>

THIS! To me, it's not a proper Z28 unless it has some high revving N/A engine like the original 302 powered car, or the LS7 2014-2015 cars. It was originally a racing homologation special and it should respect that.
>>
>>14701338
Needs to drop another 900 from there.
>>
I feel like chebby isn't going to back down with the z28 in comparison to the gt350. I'm betting on the same ls7 worked up to 550 hp and way more torks than the gt350s 429lb ft
>>
>>14701366
They're working on it. The current Camaro dropped 200 lbs on average across the entire range
>>
>>14701389
They'll never get below 3000 lbs.

>>
>>14701414
I think it'll be an all new LT engine that's N/A.
>>
>>14701426
If the Corvette GS didn't get a sexy new engine don't hold your breath expecting one for The Z. Expect semi slicks, carbon brakes, aggressive aero and a suspension harder than Superman's dick; a 1LE on roids.
>>
>>14701480
And then if they follow the steps of what they did for the last gen Camaro, they'll sell all of those parts on their website so people can fit them to their regular V6 or SS.
>>
>>14701549
Do you blame GM for wanting a piece of that delicious aftermarket pie? I think their stuff is warrantied as well.
>>
>>14701405
the corvette would be below 3000 long before the camaro (and probably never)

My guess for engine will ether be a new LT6, in the spirit of the old LS6 that was a HO LS1 basicly, or a factory version of that tunner made LS3 with a 4.8's crank, making a destroke, hi rev engine.
