Social rejects that somehow wash up on a hobby board always try to turn the board into some kind of identity/special club thing instead of just discussing the topic at hand. The real downfall of /k/ imo is when a bunch of underagers that apparently discovered the board through Day Z mod threads decided that buying old milsurp jackets was somehow a good /k/ topic and the cancer spread. I see a similar thing at risk of happening through the sticker general here on /o/, which is full of underage people that don't even own cars. I don't know the solution but it's easy to see how it happens, people show up with nothing to contribute towards the subject of the board, so they try to carve out some odd niche to find acceptance.
