How come front bench seats don't exist anymore? They're so comfortable and... romantic,

Split bench is simply the best kind of seat. There's no reason why a car shouldn't be as comfortable as a couch.

Benches have their place and at times, I wish I had the bench with flip down armrest, but the storage offered in the center console is awesome. Great place to stash my CCW, mount the pulls for my dump valves, and because it locks I also have one of 2 kill switches there. Buckets exude a more sporty feel as well. Pic related

Yeah, but then you have to ask the girl to move things to the back. There's nothing more awkward than the transition of front to back. Then when you get there you just feel odd since you're sitting in the back of your own car, rather than being in the front like usual. All in all it's just not an ideal situation. Besides, what do you think is more romantic? Having your arm around the grill while she sits next to you on your bench seat, or awkwardly folding down the back seats? But to each his own
