So, one of my friends accidently refueled his 1.4 TSi Scirocco with 92 octane gas in Ukraine. He used up the whole tank, then fueled 95, and now the RPM keeps dropping and increasing.

Has one of the pistons died?

Is it doing it all the time ? Any engine check light on?

He is not driving it, it keeps doing it when he starts is and really black smoke is coming from the exhaust.
>>
92 is still high enough.

I m asking abot the rpm not being stable , cause i hsd the same problem and it was a lambda probe , but in your case it might be something else . Best thing to do is to check it with an OBD reader

Sounds more like a blown turbo or hoses to/from there. Which is kinda common on VWs, I think?

this is an anonymous imageboard, we wont judge you for stupidity.

Its coincidence. Misfueling won't cause any problems unless you put diesel in gas or vice versa.

Tfw would rather scirocco than golf

>He used up the whole tank,
Blocked injector, or sticky pump caused by running the tank down after filling up with dirty fuel.
>>
It's a 1.4 Tsi, it will eventually die because of its legendary unrealiability and because it drinks oil like a bitch does with cum.

If your injectors are very particular they can get fucked up by pissfuel, not to mention ridiculous engine knock if your engine has a high compression ratio.

I highly doubt OP's car doesn't have a knock sensor and maps which could compensate.

Car manufacturers always have to assume the worst to an extent. One tank of slightly less octane fuel shouldn't make a difference.

I call coincidence. Maybe the different fuel exaggerated an existing issue but I doubt it was caused by it.

I'd rather a Leon SC, shame it has that boiracer status.
