Enjoy your repairs
let me guess, it's autotragic

>trunk is surely dented
>bumpers are riveted on.
>have to break side markers to replace bulbs.
German engineering.

If it's either a 2.8 or a 3.0 and a manual, great. Otherwise, enjoy your automatic grenade and/or fancy looking shitbox.

none of those are true

Z3's have little to nothing to go wrong with them, only major things are the cooling system overhaul at 85k that applies to all M52/M54 bmw's
>>14693644
this is wrong aswell, its a 2001 so its either a 2.5 or a 3.0.
The GM tiptronics are very strong and reliable, actually. Just slow.
>Please don't buy a tiptronic
Not a fan of the color, but it has the rare style 32 wheels, so it's alright.
Check the following:
>Rear subframe spotwelds behind trunk floor, if any of them are popped out, walk away.
>General interior bits breaking because plastic eats shit after a while, like the door handle surrounds and the strip of plastic where the dashboard meets the windscreen
>plastic rear window is kinda pricey to replace if its damaged, and it usually is
>Leaks etc.

I found a 2.8 manual with 92k miles for only 6k.
Should I check it out?

yeah i know they are old, but they weren't bmw's finest car. Also the m roadster does rip its subframe out.

Eh, take it with a hint of salt
All of those apply to any used car.
rear subframe issue affects all E36's with large engines aswell.
>>14693707
compared to most bmws it has a pretty small 'common problems' list
its a really really good car besides so i'd deal with the issues any day
>>14693698
>Those wheels
Its a poor substitution for an mx5. Expensive parts and repairs and slow as shit.
>>14693698
What wheels are those?
>>14693914
OZ futura

A 2.8 Z3 is much faster on track even than the 2015 MX5. Yeah it will cost more than a piece of shit 800$ miata but if OP was a poorfag he wouldn't be looking at a 9k bmw.

I was under the impression it was particular bad with the m roadster. Like almost certain to ham due to e30 butt.
At least that is what I found when I considered buying a z3 10 years ago, so I may be very wrong.
They are a very good looking car.

Thanks m8.
To rich for me though.
>>14693876
2.8 is plenty quick
drop in a hot cam for an extra 30hp
not to mention how well the m52b28 takes to turbos
Thanks guys for the feedback I'll contact the seller soon and get specifics. It's also 3.0 and automatic. I don't want a manual because the gear shifter will get in the way when my babe sucks me off ;)
