Should I just get those $99 cheapo breakpad replacement packages from PEP Boys for my 1999 Honda CR-V?
Is the squeaking really as bad as people say?

$99 for brackpads is pretty shit. Get them from ebay or order from a dealer.

its only worth getting pepboys brake pads if you know someone with a commercial account with pepboys where they can get 40% off any order.
My pads were $7 from rock auto. They outlasted and out-performed the $40 ones from the parts store.

Couple of weeks ago I installed Mintex pads, can report that they squeak like a mf, but idgf because they were easily ½ the price compared to any others.
