despite all the hate against them, there's nothing wrong with the V6 models. They're nowhere near as disappointing as they used to be. Hell, the new Camaro V6's will run a mid-13 second 1/4 mile. Just a few years ago, that was V8-only territory.

The giant killing Chevy Cobalt SS Turbo did extremely well with a small turbo 4 banger.

Tbh the bigger the engine the less of a need for a clutch to make it fast.
>N/A 4cyl or less - must get manual for the fast
>turbo 4cyl - can be as quick or quicker in some cases
>V6 - Depending on output, and car itself manual or auto is a toss up
>V8+ - DSG and autos are quicker for the most part now, this hasn't always been the case though.

Only if you buy into marketing hype like most carfags. The smaller-displacement models are as fast as the V8 used to be and make for a lighter, more balanced total package. V8s have their own virtues but it's not like those cars are actually slow with V6 or turbo 4s.
