I've been kinda meh about the ecoboost. If I was to get a new mustang I would get the 5.0 (shocking I'm sure) but the ecoboost can be made to be faster than a stock 5.0 pretty easy I'm sure.

still slower than the V6. The Ecoboost doesn't have as wide a power band. It may have higher peak numbers but there's a much less-useable RPM range where you can actually use it all.

There is some anon who bought a new Ecoboost with the performance pack and all the boxes checked a few months ago. A month or two after he bought it, he was regretting not dropping a little more on the GT or even just getting the V6 for dem bolt-ons.
It will probably be a decent car, but buying a turbo 4 or V6 pony car like that to have fun in will always leave you wishing you sprung for the V8.

The only monitor that Ford has in the ECU on the Ecoboost is the ignition counter, which can be cycled through after flashing back to stock to make it look like the factory tune was never modified.

Id like you to check the torque curve compared to the V6.... the turbo will produce far more torque at a much lower RPM range.
Get the V8 son. You can probably find a used S550 V8 for the price of a new ecoboost

No, there is a time-date log that registers every flash. If you flash the ECU, they know. Not a huge risk though, as long as you stay out of the LSPI zone.

I bought a base manual eco with the performance pack like your pic in November 2014. It's at about 27k mi right now and I'm still very happy with it. Comfy, 25mpg, and it has decent power after FMIC and a tune.
The EB motor saves about 200lbs over the GT, but going with the premium pack will add 100 right back, which isn't worth it to me.
Down the road, I'm hoping to install a Vargas turbo setup and methanol for about $3k. That will put me just a bit over GT power levels for several thousand less than a base GT with no options.

On the GT, yes, but not on the Ecoboost. The Ecoboost just uses the ignition cycles as indication. This has been confirmed by several tuner companies.
i4s are for economy. If anyone mods out an i4 mustang, then the whole v6 stigma applies to it too
