Ducati were impressive, not sure if it was simply due to soft tires but it looked like they had better cornering while keeping a nice power compared to last year, nice first laps. Perhaps Dovizioso would've keep a better pace if he wasn't the one falling.

I am 24, never ridden and plan on doing my DAS (Direct access) Licence which lets me ride every bike, if I do my CBR, am I right in thinking I can practice on the road? Does there need to be another licence holder driving along behind me, and is there a cc limit?

You need an instructor with you if you're riding a bike with a bigger cc than your license permits. If you haven't even done the CBT you can't even ride a 125 unsupervised. I'm pretty sure it's not like a car where you can just have another driver with you. It probably needs to be an instructor.
That said, if no one catches you doing it... no problem. If you have an accident you're fucked though.

If you have a valid CBT you can ride up to 125cc anywhere you want. For a full category A license you need a valid CBT and a valid motorcycle theory test pass before you can take it.

Can you at least take your bike to an empty car park or something? A bit of slow control work and getting your U turns and figure of 8's up to standard before the course will really help. You only have to drop a foot on the maneuvers test to fail and then you wont be able to do the road test.
