If he's got a steady income, good credit, and is a responsible adult, there's no reason not to. Loan rates are so low right now you could put that money you would otherwise have spent on your car in a CD and likely come out even or ahead, net of inflation, which is better than if you spent your wad on the car.

Generally a salvage car loses 40% of it's value, and with a car this new and valuable, there's no way they can do shitwork, it'd be repaired to factory spec.
