I know, man, I know. It's gotten so bad recently that I've started having this recurring dream that I call "The Truck Dream"
It starts with me in the passenger seat of my truck, the seat leaned all the way back, and I felt like I was just walking up from a long nap. I'm facing out the window and could see the countryside passing by quickly on either side at speed. I'm confused as to why I'm in my truck and in the passenger seat when I NEVER let alone drive my truck. Then I hear her say, "Hey, good morning sleepyhead."
For some reason I reply "How long have I been out?" even though I'm still confused as fuck.
She looks at the time on the radio and says "Just about three hours. You should get some more sleep, I've still got another few hours before we switch." And its then that I realize that we're on a road-trip some place to the other side of the country. And then I turn my head to look at her and I'm staring at the most beautiful woman in the world.
She's never the same. She changes from dream to dream, maybe based on whatever girl I'm thinking about that week or something, I don't know how dreams work. Either way, I'm awe-struck, every time.
She then looks at me from the corner of her eye and smirks, saying "What? You still don't trust me with your truck?"
And then this sense of peaceful calm comes over me. I've finally found the one and she's right here, sitting right next to me, driving my truck. I lean back into my seat, close my eyes and say, "No, I trust you completely." I slowly falling back to sleep listening to engine's vibrations and that girl's voice as she softly hums some tuneless song.
When I wake up again, it's back in the real world. Sometimes it takes some effort to get myself out of bed after I've had those dreams.
