Do you follow the speed limit? Do you go, 5, 10, etc over it?
>>
>>14656806
depends i usually go 5 or 10 kph under for Muh MPEEGEEES
otherwise 10 kph over
>>
>>14656806
Depends on location, traffic patterns. My general rule of thumb is as followed:

>In ME, NH, RI, and MA = 10 over
>In NY and CT = 15 over
>In VT, 5 over
>>
>>14656806
5-10 mph over on the freeway. Surface streets no more than 5 over, too many little municipalities in my area that are sticklers for speed limits and the fines are way too high.

>>14656806
a simple question that will lead to 200+ comments of pure shit

I usually just put my foot all the way down at night but in regular traffic speeding isn't really all that worth it, as the time gain is marginal and it only leads to frustrations.
>>
Even during driving school I was exceeding the speed limit.

Kek.
>>
>>14656806

I've been driving 9 over the speed limit for 18 years in every car from a boring DD to a Red SRT8 392 and never gotten a ticket. If you don't do something to draw attention to yourself, ie, dart in an out of lanes, the police could give a fuck.
>>
You can go 20 kph / 12 mph over the limit in Germany before you start getting points on your license and tickets go from cheap to expensive, so that's what I usually do outside of town. In town I stick to 10 kph / 6 mph over. They give 3 kph / 2 mph measurement tolerance in your favor, too.
>>
>>14656806

15-20 over the speed limit on the 408 in Orlando, FL. It starts off at 65MPH out west towards Winter Garden and then goes down to 55MPH when you get closer to Orlando proper so I keep it at 70-85MPH.

Then again, I've taken the 408 every fucking day for the last decade so I know the speed traps and the layout and all the curves. When I go on a road I'm unfamiliar with I cool it down to like 5-10MPH over unless I feel comfortable. Also, I drive a 2012 5.0 so if it's pouring rain I go the speed limit.

I just can't go any more than 5 over or sometimes I am afraid to turn out in front of a car onto the road
>>

>CRV

And nothing of value was lost.

Seriously, every crossover I see on the streets drives shitty, slow as fuck, and is driven by a woman or a faggot.
>>
Been hitting 90 in a 65 on my way in to work every morning lately. 5:30AM so it's almost completely empty. I'm honestly shocked at how little attention my car and driving have gotten since I moved out of NH. Probably because I'm white and no longer in the land of all white people.

I don't see what your fucking engine has to do with any of this. The Honda fourbangers make excellent power for their size and are arguably among the best 4s in the industry. And drivers don't make cars worse.
>>
>>14656925
>The Honda fourbangers make excellent power for their size

Ya, and a 3 foot tall midget who can bench 50 pounds might be good for his size but that doesn't mean he can join the football team.

>And drivers don't make cars worse.

Oh yes they do
>>
In the city I do 10kmh over, which is usually slower than everyone else but I always get ignored by speed traps so meh. On the highway I do whatever traffic is doing, so 20-40kmh over.
>>
>>14656934
The football team isn't the only team in the world, and everyone who measures up every other sportsman to football players is a complete moron.
>>
>>14656806
I go 70 on my commute. The speed limit in my state, and 5 over on the flat ground in the next state over. Once I get in the mountains I go 60-80 to keep momentum for empeegees which is as little as 5 over and as much as 15 over
>>
>>14656925
It's not the cars, it's the drivers. Crossover drivers are the scum of the roads.
>>
>>14656942

You completely missed the point. It might be powerful for its size but it still makes fuck all compared to EVERYTHING ELSE
>>
I usually go five over, but that tends to be thwarted by people going 5 to 10 under.

Actually, I don't care if people go five under, just don't fucking brake two minutes trying to maintain the speed limit.
>>
Always no more than 9 over on streets/city roads.

When I'm cruising somewhere on the highway, 9 over. Sometimes I'll go slower or faster though depending on the mood I'm in.
>>
>>14656806
I usually go 10 over unless it's a school or construction zone, where I'll do the speed limit.

I'll sometimes go 20 over on highways.
>>
>>14656806

20 = 25
30 = 35
40 = 45-50
50 = 60
60 = 70
70 = 90-95 on motorway 80 for everything else

UK, all in mph
>>
I'm a poorfag so I drive like a granny to save gas
>>
>>14656859
>could give a fuck

couldn't
>>
>>14657157

In the early hours of the morning IE going to work i'll do 15 over for all of them
>>
>>14657172
Except motorway which stays 25 over, 30 if I'm in a hurry
>>
>>14656806
somewhere between 0-5 mph over the limit

I'm never in a rush to get anywhere so I don't see a point in speeding...

just leave your house earlier nigga
>>
>>14657191

The limits were implemented at a time when cars handled and stopped like a greasy sack of shit, they are too low for modern cars' capabilities even taking human reaction time into account.
>>
>>14657186
>>14657172
>>14657157

And obviously I'll drive to conditions so if it is raining or there's areas a child/car/retard could pop out in front of me I'll slow down to a suitable speed, often if a 30 zone is lined with parked cars I'll do 5 or even 10 under.
>>
Generally how fast I go, in mph:
>75, 0 over
>70, 0 over
>65, 0 over
>55, maybe up to 5 over
>50, up to 5 over
>45, up to 10 over
>35, up to 20 over
>20, up to 20 over
>>
>>14657233

>doing it wrong

Percentages brah. I don't know where you live but here in the UK you can safely cruise behind or in front of police doing 85 on the motorway (70mph limit) but be seen doing 45 in a 30 and you're fucked.
>>
After reading this thread it feels like Australia is way too militant on speed limits.
You can't do more than 3km/h over or else cops will be in your arse.
When I first got my licence I use to drove 110 on the way home from school (country road) but I got a big warning from a cop.
>>
>>14657257
My car doesn't like being held at speeds faster than 55, and it's pretty good on gas cruising around 50.
>>
depends really. side street in suburbia ill do 25

Highway prob 10 over

Parkway/limited access 20 over

also depends on if I know where the cop spots are and if im in my area or not.
>>
In KM/H
30 = 30
50 = 50
70 = 90
90 = 120
110 = 140
130 = 160
>>
>>14657279
>car doesn't like being held at speeds faster than 55

wtf kind of fucked up flintstonesmobile do u drive nigga
>>
>>14657447
Old beetle, 1.5 single port engine. After normal driving when it hasn't been driven hard and is fully warm, it has 15 psi oil pressure at idle, after highway driving at over 60 it has close to 10 psi. Not fatal, but lower than it should be. The oil thins out at higher temperatures causing lower pressure as it flows more easily.
>>
>>14656806
If alone/light traffic = whatever I'm comfortable driving at within reason and safety under the given conditions. I might go 80/75 on the interstate and I've gone 60/35 because the 35 is literally retard-tier for that road, etc. I'm more of a stickler for staying at or sometimes below the limit in residentials, twisting or unfamiliar roads, places with a lot of blind corners etc because safety.

If I'm in traffic = whatever everyone else is doing. Deviating significantly from the surrounding traffic creates a hazard and/or cascading congestive effect and if you can't handle what the others are doing you need to get off that fucking road. Looking at you, old people.

>>14656871
>distracted driving leads to collisions

It wasn't even your speed that was the problem you daft cunt, pay the fuck attention to DRIVING while DRIVING.
>>
I don't know if I ever follow the speed limit anymore... maybe in parking lots and on busy streets because of retard pedestrians, but that's it.

This morning I was doing 90 in a 55... but everyone else was doing 85, so what am I to do?
>>
METRIC SPEED = IMPERIAL SPEED x 1.6

So,

30mph = 48km/h
50mph = 80km/h
65mph = 104km/h
>>
>>14656806
Less than or equal to 25 = posted limit
30 = 32
35 = 38
40 = 44
45= 50
50 = 55
55 = 61
Below here, maybe more than listed, but being very cautious for police
60 = 67
65 = 72
70 = 78
75 = 81
80 = 85
>>
I live in Canada but pretty much drive in MPH most the time, as do most people. I go 50mph in a 50kph zone, etc. Unless it's bad conditions, too many pedi's or too busy.

Ideally people should be paying attention to the road and not their spedo. Race cars usually don't have spedo's.
>>
10 over unless there are people out walking around. 35 over on my way to work every morning
>>
>>14656806

That's now how the equal sign works.

We have that for any natural number, n = m if and only if S(n) = S(m), where S denotes the successor function.

We define natural numbers via the successor function, so we define 20 as S(19), where 25 is S(24), and you define the successor function as
S : ℕ → ℕ
n ↦ n ∪ {n}

0 = {}. S(0) = {{}} := 1, S(S(0)) = S(1) = {{},{{}}} := 2, and so forth.

Now, you can clearly see that S(19) ⊂ S(24), but S(24) ⊄ S(19), hence S(19) ≠ S(24), so 20 ≠ 25.

What you are looking for is another relation R = {(a,b) : b = f(a)} ⊆ N × N, where f is a function that maps the speed limit to the speed at which you drive.

ie f : N → N
n ↦ the speed I drive (call it m)

Then you can use the accepted symbol for relations such as nRm or n ~ m, or use a subset of R, like {(20,25), (70,90), (30,32)}.

Otherwise you can just the function notation f(20) = 25.

What is it where you are anons? Here it's the 4th street bridge. Everyone will get up to 45 or so on it even though it's 30 through there and then slow back down when they get across it. It's not even that long, like half a mile.
