As follow up, you're not getting anywhere near 400whp with just a turbo, and the Internet is FULL of stories from people who simply slapped on a kit only to have the thing grenade in the first 5k.
Point in case here is: you are not getting anywhere near "performance" for the vehicle without dumping way more money than it's worth into it. It's already overpriced, then add another 2k at least just to make it the car it should have been. Then, cross your fingers because you decided to only drop 2k instead of the 10k required to ensure it won't grenade.

Learn to read. You don't build an N/A engine and a turbo engine exactly the same. Compression is power for N/A. Low compression means you can run more boost.

Fuel economy/possibly emissions. Talk to any 86 owner who has gotten a tune to get rid of it, their fuel economy goes to shit. When you're on thr gas you'll be above it anyway, literally only an issue for launching, and you're not buying one of these cars to drag race.

No one is talking about shoving a turbo in the engine bay and done. That is why you buy a full kit that includes the piping, manifold, intakes and an ECU tune. Please tell me you're not stupid enough to think someone just puts a turbo in a car, and then goes for a drive?
