Median barriers should be mandatory on roads with a speed limit of 55 MPH or greater.

Discuss.

Hello California
>>
>not being able to pass on the entirety of the interstate system
Either learn to stop being a scaredy faggot or sell your car
>>
>>14653761
>passing in the opposite direction of travel when you have a passing lane
>>
>>14653725
this

who cares.

at those kinds of speeds, if someone hits that thing hard enough, it'll just fly over it onto the other side like they usually do.

Disregard that I suck cocks. Yes this would be a fucking idiotic idea.
>>

You a pussy?

Naw. They're a luxury item except on toll roads.
>>

they are not to prevent solo vehicle accidents they are to prevent high speed head ons. There is a road California Highway 152 where head ons were very common and usually resulted in a fatality. They installed barriers on the entire single lane stretch (15+ miles). It does stop most accidents from being fatal but you sometimes get stuck behind a RV doing like 40 mph on a 55 mph road. So i guess it is the trade of for being less likely to die, if your into that.
>>
So you could never pass anyone on a highway?

>truck going 25 3 miles from the pass
>can't pass them because median

Passing lanes remedy that.

>on roads with a speed limit of 55 MPH or greater.

>tfw every unmarked country road is 55mph in the US

kill yourself OP
>>

Where do you get the money to build passing lanes on every highway in the country?
>>
>>14654049

Is it paved? Is it for public use?

It should have a barrier.
>>
>>14653717
Ain't nobody gon pay fo dat

The money saved from medical costs of drivers injured in head on collisions.

>Not just passing on the shoulder
Pussy
>>
>>14654077
Maybe soccermoms will but the vast majority of drivers most likely wouldn't care to support that idea.
>>
>>14654093

Earth.

>>14654107

I disagree. We're living in the most safety conscious time yet. If they won't now, they will in the future.
>>
>>14654194
No they won't. there isn't enough room on most roads with speeds over 55mph.
>>
>>14654207

Concrete barriers are only a few inches wide. They can be (and are on some roads already) placed directly over the double yellow lines.
