I have sat in the fiesta and it does not have the head room for a normal person. The backseats are uncomfortable small, I could not sit straight up. Sitting in the front seat I had to have the seat all the way back for a comfortable seating position.
Haven't tried the Fit yet, but that's my two cents on the matter.

Probably a decent compact hatch that's a bit better/bigger for same price

If you arent getting the ST get the fit. The base model fiestas are plagued with problems and serious tranny issues.

that's with the duel clutch automatic, just make sure to get one with a 5-speed manual.
I drive a 2014 Fiesta SE model with the 5 speed manual.
