Not exactly "fast" but trust me she feels it, even compared to father's 237PS Mondeo which is faster on paper. Smaller cars are better at giving an illusion of speed without losing your licence.

is there a reason for the roof rack things on the butt shelf?
can you set shit on there and tie it down?
>>14617266
I think it's so you can operate the folding roof manually, e.g. if the sensors fail.
>>14617287
>they know their electronics will fail eventually so they give you the option to operate it by hand
...That's one way to fix the problem, I guess. I honestly don't know if that's really smart or really dumb.

It was the first mainstream cabriolet with a tin top folding roof, it was made to capitalise on the success of the SLK. Earlier model years than mine had some notable issues with the mechanism, apparently.
If you just want straight line speed get some fwd V6, or 1.8T Audi/VW, or something.
The nicest MX-3 you can find?
Not that fast, but they're fun and have a tiny little V6 for bonus interesting points.

I was thinking about a dirt cheap miata

Those things are pretty rare as far as I know, theres probably more luck finding a 323F, or a 323C.
