Toyota can't develop a potent 4 cylinder, the 2.4L in my RAV4 is fucking lame as shit. Burns about a quart of oil every 5,000km and produces a paltry 166hp.

That's just the pipes and turbo. Now throw in a heavier clutch to handle the power, oh and axle replacements when bearings go out and various other drivetrain parts. Oh and a tune that will cost thousands, good luck getting the engine running smoothly like a factory stock tune the japs spent thousands of hours perfecting.

But soccer moms don't drive RAV4s anymore, they drive Ford Escapes and Hyundai Santa Fes. The only people I see driving RAV4s are elderly people and younger people like myself who need a reliable DD that isn't a shitbox Civic with no storage space.
