Scion's problem was that their cars appealed to too many people. The brand was supposed to be an experimental one that tried shit and appeal to youngins.
But, that didn't work out. I think the statistic is that the average age of a Scion driver is about 40. The xB was the perfect car for old people- it was spacious, easy to get into, and looked pretty average and discreet. (Honestly would have been better just under the Toyota brand)
This was a car built for SEMA as a joke / shitshow. It's designed to showcase parts and crap, not be a cohesive car.
Scion was a cool idea- but, it failed to hit the mark and kind of sputtered out.
Now every white or asian male has had a job or remotely wealthy parents has a FR-S and thinks they're fucking Keiichi Tsuchiya.

It was way too late to the market. Scion was geared towards Gen X, which didn't want to drive what its parents drove, like Ford and Toyota. By the time they rolled out Scion, Millennials were driving, and they drive the same stuff Boomers drove.
