Why couldn't you?

If the top is still in good condition and the heat works, the only reason why you couldn't is if you are a shitty driver in the snow.
>>
>>14556883
does the stop really work well in the winter in terms of keeping heat insulated?
>>
>>14556891
It heats up really fast but also dissipates heat really fast.
>>
>>14556857

Not in lower mainland BC
>>
>>14556891
Its only a two seater, theres negligible area to warm up.
The stock heater should keep up fine.
>>14556972
the lower mainland would be the best place to do it, as
rain inst really worse then snow, not to mention we get
some 10 plus degree days in the middle of winter
for top down cruises. And we have the funnest roads.

Name one fun road im vancouver
>>
>>14556891
A post-2000 car should be fine and warm up sufficiently quickly.

What was the name of the storm?
>>
>>14557118
>trafficked stop light laden straight road downtown

Not the kind of fun road I had in mind.

I'm also thinking about this, /o/ sold me on the S2000 and I only get snow about 10 days a year but for the majority of those days the roads have been salted. The S2K is within my budget and I want one!

Sea to Sky at 1am on a weekday
>>
>>14557194
isn't the s2k aluminum?
>>
>>14556857
No but you're retarded for living in cucknada
>>
If you're living in Ontario, it's going to be expensive. Insurance here is fucking garbage. "We'll cover nothing, you can't get coverage for theft, fire, etc. And every other company won't either. And we'll charge you four grand for the year. Get fucked nerd."

I've seen people not insure vehicles because it's cheaper for some to not insure than it is to insure them.
>>
>>14556857
Maintaining the top is annoying, and if you have a plastic rear window the enjoy your freezing cold and lack of visibility once it cracks
I got a hard top to make it much better
>>
>>14556941
This right here. I don't even use the heat in my S2k in the winter. Once you get to highway speed it just dumps heat into the passenger compartment. Does get cold pretty damn quick once I shut it off though.
>>
>>
>>14557427
nope
>>
>>14556857
You can pull this off in Vancouver easily. I know because my dad does. Anywhere else I'd say no
>>
>>14559853
Hey nigger you still doing the bench racing tournament?
>>
>>14559904
Oh and I guess Victoria too
>>
>>14556857
Why not a hardtop Miata?
>>
>>14559944
Cause an s2K is a better car
>>
>>14556857
We DD'd a jeep, we had a hard top for it but were usually late putting it on (later November). I would suggest looking for one. Also if the car is an s2k put the best winters you can find on it!
>>
>>14560007
>I would suggest looking for one
I mean a hard top
>>
>>14556857
Looking at resale here...no. Convertibles, particularly convertibles in great condition, are unicorns up north. They don't always sell quickly but they DO sell above suggested. Go for it, worst case scenario, sell it and get your money back and perhaps some.
>>
>>14559331
Are you saying the exhaust or engine heat intrudes in to the interior? Or are you saying the heater gets so hot you can leave it off and stay warm off of the air seeping out when the recirc is off?
>>
>>14559959
It's a worse daily driver
>>
>>14560038
Probably the engine and transmission heat getting into the cabin, those cars are turning over at 4k rpm at highway speeds

If you've ever sat in an FD RX7 those things also get really fucking hot in time because the rotary engine is essentially firing 6 times per revolution
>>
>>14559853

why the fuck not? they make the block jacket and synchros out of carbon fiber but make the body out of steel?
>>
>>14560114
Probably would have cost too much to get it as rigid at the time and it was already a light car.
The Boxster and Cayman are made of steel as well and weigh about the same
