Why can't Mitsubishi compete?
>>
>>14513844
Imagine if Mitsubishi jumped back into the gas vehicle market with a RWD sports car called the Zero, chassis code A6M. Have it be powered by a twin turbo 4.5L all aluminum DOHC V8 with variable valve timing and direct injection, coupled to a bitching 7 speed manual trans.

I would cum buckets.
>>
>>14513865
I would buy it in white, attach little wings to sides, hang airsoft guns under them, slap on a few red meatballs, and go shoot at boomershit vehicles.
>>
Because they don't have the money or time to compete.
same thing happened with the Jap Zero.

took em like 5 years to make a world class plane.
took America 1 year to kick their asses.
>>
>>14513844
Because they pump out something that rapes its competition and leave it for a decade or so. Everyone catches up and passes them and MMC doesn't know what the fuck happened.
>>
>>14513865
so a slower camaro or mustang?
i don't see the reason they would do that.
>>
>>14513844
>supposedly the Zero inspired the RX-7 FD

I'd love a superlight car with a moderate powerplant like the Zero. Would really be a unique statement.

Because the US was able to capture a working Zero, figure out what their weaknesses were, and exploit them.
>>
>>14514420
Meh, they did that during Midway before they got to tear one apart. By just using flight characteristics.
>>
>>14513865
i'd pay a lot of money for this. i mean the Americans have the hellcat...
>>
>>14514428
Midway was a US ambush. Most Zeroes were destroyed before leaving their carriers.
>>
>>14514420
Not to go full plane autist, but my theory has always been that the US's biggest advantage in the Pacific was their ability to develop, share, and teach new tactics efficiently and quickly, while the Japanese were much slower to react. The Thatch Weave was a good example, it was simple as fuck and pilots could have been trained to recognize and avoid it, but it kept working for years. The Americans almost immediately integrated it, and other tactics, into their training back home, and spread it throughout the deployed fleet, while the Japanese kept training new pilots the same way and they weren't prepared to counter what the Americans were doing.

Mitsubishi are still in business. Vought got eaten up by a conglomerate decades ago.

Is the Mirage (IIRC cheapest car available in North America) as terrible as I've heard?
>>
i think its quite cool how many companies that were producing warmachines for the loosing side now are in the civilian market/ still alive

>Henschel made tanks, including the Tiger and airplanes. later made trains and heavy trucks

>Porsche also did tanks, including the Elefant TD and the superheavy Maus prototype

>BMW made aircraft engines, powering the Fw 190 fighter among other things.

>Mitsibushi made the fighters, the zero being the most famous

>Nakajima (under a new name) still makes airplanes for the JSDF. they made a large number of fighters and bombers before and during WWII

>daimler-benz (called marcedes when on four wheels) made engines for the famous Bf-109 fighter, among with other projects for the RLM

>Krupp made weapons and steel, including the famous 800mm Schwerer gustav siege-gun, now makes massive machines that eat mountains

>What is the evo

I'm a GTR fanboi, but even i'll give the evo credit.

That 4 banging piece of shit is actually pretty fucking good.

If they took their time to apply themselves, i have no doubt they could make a rocking 6 or 8.

Some German tank commander.

>>14513865
Hell yea dude. It comes with a shot glass holder for sake and a headband in the glove box so when American cars start winning you can don the band, shoot the sake, and ram into them at WOT with a full tank of gas.

MMC didn't make planes, though. People never seem to understand this.

Haha.

You're still correct though, Grumman "lives on" as Northrop Grumman.
>>
>>14515407
Isn't that all owned by Hughes?

Mitsubishi's still independent, though. Even if they make generic japshit cars.

>>14513844
Out-riced by the GTR and LFA, out-casualed by the Camry, and out-off-roaded by the Wrangler 4-door

>US's biggest advantage

Our biggest advantage was our industrial might and our factories were basically able to give us the ability to zerg rush our enemies.

And some damn good engineers.
People don't realize that education and national security go hand in hand

Its not bad, but its a little overpriced for what you get. They had a recall on them for Salt Belt due to salt getting into the wires and shorting them out.
