What is the safest car I can buy?

I was in a rollover accident as a kid I've been traumatized a little bit.

SUV / Crossover preferred.

Top kek.
>>
Just buy whatever and get it fully caged.
>>
Drive an 18 wheeler because nothing is gonna fuck you up when you're driving in one. Unless you hit a wall at a high speed
>>
>>14512909

Rollcage
HANS device
Fire Extinguisher System

Airbags stop working after a certain point and most modern vehicles have little to no headroom meaning your spine is coming out your ass in a rollover.

maybe

anon is falling for that misconception that bigger and heavier is automatically safer.
>>
>>14512948

Because it weighs as much as a fucking Suburban .
>>
>>14512909
SUVs are the most prone vehicles to rolling over and are the least safe. buy a car.
>>
>>14512958

Rollover crashes are lower severity than direct impacts. A safer car that's more rollover prone is more than worth the tradeoff.

>>14512997 here. Bigger cars are safer in crashes because the impact is more evenly dispersed over the larger body. A Smart car in a crash has no intrusion, but the rapid deceleration from such a small crumple zone means a higher g-load to the occupant compartment.
>>
>>14512993

This is false. The added safety from direct impacts makes up for the higher center of gravity. Furthermore, modern cars have stability control systems which have shown to greatly reduce the chance of a rollover.

Just don't wear a seatbelt and you'll be thrown clear of the wreckage.

SUVs also have longer stopping distances and go out of control easier (see: moose test)
>>
>>14513125
>>
>>14513068

It has to be a beefy chassis to support all that battery weight. It better be fucking safe if it weighs that much.

>>14513108

Then you get passed by said suburban because Tesla's get slow after 60 and dat range anxiety blah blah.

It's a safety feature really.

sure unless you drive on the highway. also shit tier handling and braking distances. a full size car is far safer

This is just a meme. They can tout their IHS bullshit all they want but they will never match up to volvo levels of stronk.

GF has been in a 150kph autobahn rear ender couple years ago. Was in a Lexus CT200h. Rolled four times. No injuries, five passengers. I'd get that, or a Volvo. V90 if you're sane, XC90 if you think you need an SUV to feel safe.
>>
>>14513012
Likelyhood to crash is more imprtant than safety when crashing imo.
>>
Going by accident data the saab 9-5 was the safest car ever made during its production run. I would think it's still easily in the top 10. Other than that I would go with a Volvo.

does that fucking look rolled over to you?

best way not to die in an accident is not to have an accident. and why not just get a car that you WILL die in if you crash, mening you will be more focused on the road. in theory anyway

Brand new and something that is actually plausible as a DD?

Tall-sitting, modern SUV/crossovers are pretty safe, especially if you're in the SUV and a small car crashes into your front. I believe the XC90 was recently crowned the safest car as of yet

Or have a car that will never make it to the road before breaking lol

Volvo XC90 or XC60

Though everything they make is very safe; so also adding the brand new Volvo S90.

Learn how to drive. No car is going to save you from bad technique.
>>
>>14512909
A larger Mercedes, Volvo, Audi, BMW...

Wanting an SUV/crossover after a rollover is illogical as heck.
>>
>>14514670

That simply isn't true. Crashes don't kill you. Injuries do.

A car that will crash 100% of the time you drive it, but keeps you incredibly safe in a crash is safer than a car that crashes 1% of the time, but will kill you.
>>
>>14512909
>SUV / Crossover preferred.

You should kill yourself.
>>
>>14512909
As others have said, SUVs and crossovers are more prone to rolling over.
The answer to your question is a Volvo sedan or wagon.
