What car is the best driving experience?
>>
Not any street car
>>
>>14480471
Define "best", and in what price range?
an f1 car and a rolls royce will have very different driving experiences, neither one being particularly bad.
>>
>>14480471
Totally subjective, I will insist however it not be the car you like the most. Even if it is.

They are the best riding experience. Far more superior to the horse...unless you have a clitoris.

Any Porsche with two doors.
More specifically, the 911.
More specifically, the 911 GT3.
More specifically, the 911 GT3 RS.
More specifically, the 911 GT3 RS 4.0.

Pictured is a base GT3, which is probably the best compromise of track car and road car in my list.
>>
>>14480471
a high powered fwd like 400+hp, would be an experience, not sure if best but best is subjective due to the vague question, it would be fun to drive and torque steer everywhere ripping skids in it lol
>>
>>14480579
Those awards are based on votes sent in by real car owners, you dolt. Clarkdon disagreed with it
>>
>>14481559
Fuck off bench racer.

1. The GT3 is NOT a compromise of track and road car. It's SHIT on the road. At my local Porsche dealer, most people who buy a GT3 trade it in within a year or two. The GTS is a much better compromise between road and track.

2. The Boxster/Cayman is more fun. Why? Because you can stretch it's legs on roads and highways, and have fun with it everyday. You need a track to really push any of the higher-spec 911s into fun territory, and how often do you go to a track? Anyone who thinks "I'll go every weekend" is dreaming. It doesn't happen, life gets in the way.

>The GT3 is NOT a compromise of track and road car. It's SHIT on the road. At my local Porsche dealer, most people who buy a GT3 trade it in within a year or two.
My dad has owned GT3s, GT3 RSs, and GT2 RS (just the 997) of the various generations. I'd agree with you on the 997, but he just got the GT3 RS 991 and with the PDK it is very street-able. He got the option to lift the nose for going into parking lots and gas stations too which really makes it more useable.

What made the previous ones hard to drive often was the clutch. It was really heavy and if you got stuck in a bad traffic jam your leg would go numb. I drove once in the GT3 RS 996 home and got stuck in a bad traffic jam and my leg was literally numb after an hour.

With the new 991 GT3 RS it is very sporty but can drive it in traffic no problem and also the seats aren't too bad either. It's for sure a carbon fiber shell so not ultra comfy but they aren't as bad as the track seats from the 997 RS's.

In the 997 I'd say a GT3 wouldn't be too bad to drive daily, but the GT3 RS would be because of that clutch and it had no lift option (at least my dads didn't or it didn't have it optioned).

The 911 GTS is great, but honestly it isn't enough of a push over the S to really make it worthwhile. I'd say at that point get a 911 S.

Hello.

But honestly most enjoyable thing I've driven was a V8 R8 with the gated 6 speed. Clio comes second.

V8 Vantage is nice if you want to feel super comfy no matter how fast you're going.

Just from personal experience mind.

> he mad

A large percentage of 997 GT3 owners track their cars, according to surveys done a few years ago. They're much more capable and spacious than the 987s while offering near identical driving dynamics, which is impressive given their added weight and inferior driveline configuration.

I'll speak from what I've owned:

1. 99 Miata because the shifting feels just right. Clutch is a little light though.

2. Cayman S because its actually fast and balanced.

3. Integra GSR. Good shifter but big ass steering wheel. Vtec is fun, more fun than porsches variocam.

"While the steering is slightly lighter in the Cayman than in the 911 GT3, road feel at the wheel is comparable in both Porsches."

I can't wait to see what cartoon image you use as a rebuttal (I use the term loosely) to this.

Driving experience is a very broad term.
You have consider whether you like fun or focus.
Fun: e30 m3, Miata, low spec caterham, Ferrari f12
Focused: Porsche gt3/Rs/gt2rs, caterham 620r, 458 speciale, Cayman gt4, mclaren f1/p1/675lt

Fun driving experiences should involve you at low speeds and be easy to throw around. An oversteery balance doesn't hurt either.
Focused or thrilling cars are involving and make you wring their necks to get the best from them.

>>
>>14484473
Please read the article. Their lateral G figures differ by .01. Their slalom speeds are off by 2 mph, and the difference in their speed variance is a scant 3 mph. Despite their differences in layout and size, their road behavior and their recorded performance stats are very similar. I would call that near identical driving dynamics. At their absolute limit is mostly where they differ. If that's the point you're trying to make, fine.

Never once did I say 911s and Boxsters drive the same. I was comparing the 997 GT3 to the 987 Boxster/Cayman S. Granted, the car tested is a Cayman R.
