Why people like this car? It's so hideous and it's design doesn't even know what it's supposed to be, the proportions are all wrong and it just looks awful.

"Aggressive blob", how can you take it seriously?
>>
>>14474076
i like the interior and the performance
>>
>>14474076
>opinions opinions opinions

It looks fine, imo.
>>
>>14474076
>Why people like this car?

It's a cheap lightweight RWD sportscar with a manual transmission that you can buy new. It's only real competition in the market is the convertible-only Miata.
>>
>>14474076
looks better without the lip spoiler. and they look better than 99.9% of the things on the road. white is est
>>
Because they have a scat fetish.
>>
>>14474076

cheap RWD with LSD
>>
Id get one if it didnt have a shitty interior and a shitty suburu engine.
>>
>>14474432
Buy Scion or Toyota.
>>
>>14474076
>Why people like this car?

Second lowest centre of gravity on the market after the 458, RWD, LSD, 4 seats, decent boot, comfortable, fun, reliable.
>>
because its pretty fun, cheap, light, manual and has a great torsen slip diff. lotsa aftermarket too
>>
>>14474450
Oh, did they put the good Subaru engines in those?
>>
>>14474450
How does that solve the problem?
>>
>>14474469
>>14474473
They all have the same engine? That's just lazy. What the hell makes people choose between them?
>>
>>14474566
>What the hell makes people choose between them?

if you like a toyota badge, get a toyota

if you like a subaru badge, get a subaru

its that fucking simple

>>
>>14474566
In America right now the only option with nice interior stuff is BRZ, so if people are cheap or don't carr they get the FRS.

Scion is dead now though so maybe they'll offer a top end GT86.
>>
>>14474076
it looks better in person but is not very exciting
not much different from the mk4 poopra

>>
>>14474076
In terms of styling, the only problems I have are with that terrible Toyota wheel gap, that hideous mouth guard and the rear spoiler that looks like shit. Getting an FRS or the base model BRZ deals with 2 of those issues, the remaining one needs some work like lowering springs, and higher offset wheels.
>>
>>14474870
Bah fucked up, base model BRZ still has the shitty mouth guard so just get an FRS.

if you're racing you're gonna want something with a bit more than 100hp/tonne
>>
>>14474076

It's a good addition to the thin line-up of affordable RWD performance vehicles. The whole intent of its design is obvious enough already given the ease of oversteering and the thin stock tires. It's a car that was designed for tackling corners and drifting while appealing to a younger demographic.

It's not fast stock, but a bolt-on turbo, equal length headers, ecu flash, and better gripping tires can make it formidable on the track.

It's a completely modular sports car with good handling the rivals the Miata. Now quit your shitposting and crawl back into your fwd shitbox.
>>
gud car

it might not make as much torque as your bus, OP, but it's probably a lot nimbler

>basically everyone can agree that its attractive

no. the countless threads we've had over this has proven not everyone can agree it's attractive.

>the car might be fast

I'm going to assume you left out a "not" there.
>>
Honestly look wise, the only things I would change about this vehicle is the factory wheels, the window tint and I would add some of rear brake vents from the C5 Z06 vette, because those were the coolest fucking cars on the planet when I was 8 years old in 2004

Normies like it because it looks sporty. Bus riders like it because "rwd".

It's affordable, a decent alternative to the Miata if you want something on the lighter side of things with a proper roof and people who own them shit on endlessly about how they handle. Along with the Miata it's the antithesis to benchracing, with emphasis placed on feels over lap times.

I just see it as a blank slate. Would a turbocharged AWD version be like a 2-door WRX coupe? How about with a 3S-GE or even an LS swap.

Can't fix how it looks, though. Safety standards have us all cucked if we're looking at new cars.

It's one of those cars that pictures don't do justice. Sort of like the Audi R8. They look like shit in pics but when you see one it's awesome.

I own one. It's just a nice RWD car that drifts like crazy. I'm not joking, the tail will step out if I take a turn at 30mph aggressively.

It sucks on paper but you really need to drive one.
>>
>>14474076
stop looking at it as a proper sports car and start looking at it as a Miata competitor and it makes a whole lot more sense
>>
>>14481160
you need some decent tires m8 them eco tires wont let you go fast.
>>
>>14481196
I got the car in January so I'm waiting until I wear these ones bald.

I've been drifting like crazy, though. Shouldn't be too long
>>
>>14481160
Wow, I know it's a really dumb thing to nitpick, but I can't believe that Scion cheaped out so hard on the FR-S key. I've only driven BRZs and they had keyless fobs, so I figured the FR-S would have the same thing.

Maybe it is overpriced, underpowered, and slow, but ugly it is not.
>>
>>14481196
Decent tires will cause more rolling resistance and make it even slower than it already is.
>>
>>14481160
Guy with the FR-S here.

I'm planning on going turbo. Then it'll be a RWD STI that weighs a shit ton less.
>>
>>14481204
They really did cheap out on it. It pissed me off.

The only reason I got the FR-S is because I'm a Toyota fanboy. I like the old 86, so having a physical key is fine to me.

It's really not that slow. I've been able to keep up with cars a lot more expensive on twisty roads. It carries so much speed through the corners. It's really a track car.

I plan on doing something like that.
>>
>>14481207
faster round the corners is where it counts, no one buys a little 2l shitbox for going in straightlines
>>
>>14481251
2mph faster in the corner will be offset by 4mph slower coming out of the corner.
>>
>>14481241
It's TRD. It's more "different style" than it is a body kit.
Same thing with Nismo

I don't mind a physical key either, but it would've been nice if they'd gone with something a little bit special, like the branded keys that S2000s came with. (Pic related.)

I'm actually kind of surprised that they didn't all just come with keyless, though, like the Fiesta ST and ND.

>>14481244
Yeah, I saw those while googling more pics of the FR-S key. Definitely an improvement, but not one you should have to make in the first place. (I wonder if those are modded VW keys, by the way.)
>>
>>14481272
You'll be doing neither on the bus.

Not sure what kind of turbo or how much boost you'll be running at such a high compression

This. But I thought the toyobaru came stock with equal length headers. And a $250 tune gets rid of the horrible torque curve, which was there on purpose to meet factory promised mpgs
