nissan hardbody
no one wants small 2wd trucks. they have KA24 engines, solid rear axle ready to be welded, and no one cares when you wreak them.

But then is drifting still a thing? I thought it had gone the way of altezza lights; a thing for people who don't know that much about cars but want to be cool.

Would a W201 or E36 compact make a good drift car? How about a classic Kadett with an engine swap?

none of them

Do RX8's make good track cars?

240sx. Buy one for around 1000 dollars and weld the diff . Done. there is a reason they are so popular

v6 90s camaro

MK3 Supras are very cheap, have an LSD rear end stick, and have plenty of power even stock non-turbo

Is it ideal? No, but it's better than a stock 240 or Miata with an open diff

Holy shit /o/ I work at a gas station and could easily afford that, do you even have a job?
>>
>>14456279
It is technically expensive for a drift whore. It's not like it's going to stay nice, no reason to throw money away.
>>
>>14456279
Faggot we're not talking nice cars here, we're talking shitheaps for plebs to slide into things

There is very very little aftermarket that actually improves engine power since the OEM stuff is already great. Best you can do is a cat delete, weight reduction surgery, BHR ignition, and throw on some coilovers.

So I guess it'd be good if you want some good out of the box that won't get you addicted to modding.

drifting is for children
>>

They're not meant to drift and slide, they're mean to grip the track pulling hard gs
>>
>>14460691

No engine, there's dohc 2.0 8v with 120hp and that's it.
>>
E36 senpai
>>
any 2wd minitruck.
>>
>>14460679
they weren't well off. I believe Bunta got the formula atlantic engine in a horse trade or won it in a race.
>>
240sx is the obvious answer.

Other good choices are the E36 (that's what I chose), Karin Futo, and Mustang.
>>
>>14461231
This. Get a cheap 318i, engine swap if you need more power.

Silvias
>>
>>14455498
Of youre western-european then 325\328i E36/E46. They don't come with LSD though, but nothing really does. The put out very similar HP but the 328i had a bunch more torque, which you would want.
>>
>>14456008
1.6 drift like a camp with LSD.
>>
>>14456125
Yeah, it's supposed to be a tadbit more tricky than a normal one.
>>
>>14461366
Don't, you won't be able to drift that properly on dry tarmac.
>>
E46 GOAT cheap weekend doriftu car. swap out the differential and rear axles with the m3 and boom you have a limited slip.
>>
>>14462305
>>14461366
>>14461259
Which E36 though? A fullsize with more power, or a compact with more slippery rear suspension (but less power)?
>>
>>14462343
Doesn't really matter, the compact is just ugly af and slightly more tricky. The more power, the better. If you really want to have fun don't go below 2.5.
>>
>>14462367
I actually dig the compact's looks, and they're a load cheaper than the equivalent coupe. a 323ti is pretty much obtainable gold for me.
>>
>>14462384
Then go for it. If you manage to find a LSD or weld the diff shut, you can drift that crazy.
Just one thing: If you weld the diff, disengaging the clutch will not get you out of hot situations anymore (ie too much oversteer). Then you'll spin out.
With LSD that might still work as a last lifeline.
