Dirtiness is a sign of honor, and shows my car gets used. Got waxed 6 months ago, and I let the rain wash the mud off.

Why should I care what some Neanderthal-looking bitch thinks about my truck?

What do you mean?

People who have pride of ownership and see value in quality of work like to detail regardless of their cars worth. I enjoy it because I like keeping things I own clean. Washing and waxing keeps your paint in good condition. Same with cleaning and conditioning your interior. Especially if its plastic and rubber shit.

anyone have that video of the dudes at a detail shop spraying down the inside of a car thinking thats the right way to clean it?
>>

>le just metal and plastic
so is a 747..

you just have a weak work ethic and no pride in craftsmanship. detailing is an essential part of keeping a car in good shape. your front yard probably looks like shit too right?

you dont have to go full autistic and buy $1000 worth of shit. ~$150 initial investment is enough for a da, polish, compound, wax, and some microfibers.
>>
I personally don't like cleaning or detailing my motorcycles or car beyond preventing rust from salt or degreasing parts that shouldn't be covered in grease or grime.

It takes forever and I'd rather have someone else do it. I don't particularly give a shit about things being shiny and super clean unless it's for a show or something.

Maybe on the surface, but it doesnt do anything functional yo the car.

I don't think a claybar would work to well on my primer

Use ceramic or semi-metallic brake pads. Also don't tail people half a bumper width away all the time and you won't have to lay into your brakes as often.

Metallic brake pads. OEM is usually metallic but maybe your manufacturer doesn't do that.

And maybe you're just exaggerating. In which case get over it or get different coloured wheels

I drive a 2010 range rover hse but NEVER had shit like this happen to me. It's not even a fucking cumstained 'used' car. My dad drove it for a year, maybe two and gave it to me. It's always clean, the interior is chemically washed once a year, last year bought fucking new floormats. Nobody smoked in the car, I take meticulous anal care of ze speshul leather AND STILL DIDNT HAVE MY DICK SUCKED IT.

the surface is a major part of holding it's value
the interior stays healthy. seats dont wear as much trim doesnt wear as much when they are clean and conditioned.
leaks are easier to see, car easier to work on, more likely to work on a clean car.

it's just basic ownership. sorry your shit parents didn't instill any ethics in you. and im sorry that you're posting on a enthusiast board yet obviously dont care about cars.
>>
>>14442183
it can do more harm than good
over time they are wearing out what they clean
>>
>>14447375
literally wrong.
you'd have to compound your car like 100 times to get through the clear.

that's 100 years worth of compound.

>>
>>14447461
are you positive it doesn't have a clear coat? some old cars do and most old cars have been resprayed. my 71 for instance, even though it's still original color was resprayed in the 90s with a 2 stage.

if youre sure its single stage then you can still do everything you do with 2 stage.
you just need to take special care. use the least aggressive products.
paint transfer is normal with single stage paints even while waxing.

you can have it paint corrected and polished at a detail shop if you dont want to risk it or invest in the products.
they will measure the paint depth to make sure it's fine.

as far as everything else, just like a clear coat. you can clay it, wash it, and wax it all the same.
just use non-aggressive products.
