In the past GM and Ford were too pussy to try and compete on Europes own turf.

http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/motors/ford-shelby-gt350r-mustang-driven-review-a3158256.html

With the quality of their performance cars going up and with their European competitors bringing out; cucked forced induction, paddle shifters and electric steering. Will Ford and GM take steps to bring their sports car models to Europe or will they be forever pussyified in the shadow of other European marques?
>>
>>14441156
Its not really up to ford
Its whether or not Europeans would actually buy it

Anyways is it safe to say that the voodoo engine is possibly the greatest engine being made by America right now?
>>
>cucked force induction
You remember de Z06 is supercharged right?

Yes, an xboxhueg V8 with a supercharger.

Not a quad turbo 0.6 liter I3 with sport mode.

I don't know if you know this, but Ford's been dominating the european market for years with their small hatchbacks.

Also, the Mustang is NOT A SPORTS CAR, no matter how many numbers it has.

The 350R and other limited performance models will probably never see Europe unless specifically imported. They've been cucking us Americans for years, giving us watered down versions of the euro car.

I for one am fucking glad ford is charging 100k euros for a Mustang GT.

The hellcat only makes about 40hp more than the '13 GT500 and those didn't blow up after 100 miles.
>>

>The 350R and other limited performance models will probably never see Europe unless specifically imported.
They're coming here though. Previous Shelby's, Boss', GT500's etc. have all come to Europe. Problem with the current GT350 is that you had to preorder them, so you won't be seeing them on the open market soon.

>They've been cucking us Americans for years, giving us watered down versions of the euro car.
That's your government though, not Ford or GM corporate. Long live emissions control...

>I for one am fucking glad ford is charging 100k euros for a Mustang GT.
lel, they're selling for low forties.

>Anyone can slap a supercharger on a big v8 and make bigpower
>The hellcat is just a big fucking supercharger
Nobody can slap a supercharger on arguably the oldest US-made V8, and make more power than all the others, and then still offer a warranty on it - and then sell it so damn well they'll have to put more power into the Viper to make it sell.

LT4 engine: designed 2015, engine family dating back to 2014. Direct injected: 650hp.
Hellcat: designed 2014, engine family dating back to 2003. Not even direct injected. 707 fucking horsepower.
>>
>>14441530
Is having an old engine supposed to be impressive?
>>
>>14441545
No, but having that old engine make market-dominating power should be.
>>
>>14441482
Voodoo isn't all that impressive when you start comparing it to other flat plane crank V8's.

>The hellcat is just a big fucking supercharger
With a warranty. You find me a 700hp supercharger with an engine, a car, and a warranty. Despite both GM and Ford using more modern and efficient components (OHC, direct injection), the Hellcat offers more power.

What about the fact that flat cranks where generally limited to 5 liters and below util the voodoo changed that

I guess I just have a appreciation for high revving NA motors

Don't get me wrong, I like the hellcat. I just think the voodoo is a better step forward.
>>
>>14441588
We're talking about engines, not chassis'. You show me where the Mustang engine is better than a Hellcat unit.

>>14441596
>What about the fact that flat cranks where generally limited to 5 liters and below util the voodoo changed that
They weren't limited. Supercar manufacturers just got enough power out of a flat plane crank V8 to not need 5+L of displacement. Besides, the only reason the Voodoo is so large by flatplane standards is that it's based on the Modular engine platform, which is exactly what's holding it back.

>I guess I just have a appreciation for high revving NA motors
8250RPM isn't high though. Compared to a pushrod engine, sure, but not high in the grand scheme of things. Again, Modular engine design holding the Voodoo back. This shows especially in the piston speed of 25.6 m/s, they had to really work the oiling around for that. Simple engineering solution would be to up the bore and lower the stroke, but Ford has no provisions to go any bigger than the 94mm bore on the Mod motor.

>I just think the voodoo is a better step forward.
It's not a step forward if it's still based on the old crossplane V8. Voodoo would've been interesting had it been two 2.3 Ecoboost units sharing a common flat plane crankshaft. I still like it, but it just feels gimmicky.

Now, if they'd just strap two turbo's on the Voodoo, call it the Ecoboost V8, slap it into a GT350 and call it a GT500, I'd be happy. There's nothing stopping that engine from reaching 800hp. Well, except the piston speed maybe. Lower the RPM limit, done.

God i hope Ford puts that Engine in a super-car

If they won't put it in the Ford GT hopefully some Euro-manufacturer will use it in their hyper/super like Koenigsegg they did with the Modular Engine.
>>

>Thinks engine size matters.

Stupid nigger.
>>
>>14441324
Exactly. Europeans won't buy them because they don't meet the performance standards of the Euro brands.
>>
>>14441642
There is a decent chance the GT500 could be the same Ecoboost V6 as the GT.
>>
>>14441156
I thought ford hot hatches did well in europe?

European governments taxes the hell out of cars with high displacement, so traditional muscle cars aren't really worth the price

This. You COULD get a Mustang, but it'd be smoked in every corner by something cheaper and smaller and lighter with 1/4 the displacement.

Here are the "Cheaper" faster cars you could get for the price of a GT350R
>$61,000 for the GT350R in the US
>$46,127 for the GT in Europe (germany to be specific)

I don't know how much the GT350R will cost in europe yet but i imagine it will be about 20K more than the GT.

Standard mustang GTs have also been on par with M3s since 2011 which seems to be a car euros use as a benchmark for performance in a GT car (also priced competitively).

>>14441847
>Exactly. Europeans won't buy them

http://www.businessinsider.com/the-ford-mustang-v8-is-more-popular-among-mustang-buyers-in-europe-than-it-is-in-the-us-2015-8

>Ford of Europe released some data Monday that suggests orders for the Mustang in the United Kingdom are rolling in quickly. The carmaker has taken about 2,000 so far.

Guess you don't know europeans too well.

Oh and you have almost nothing to lose by buying a GT350R cause those cars are guaranteed to hold their value like a Ferrari especially in a place where Muscle cars are a rare breed and one of this caliber no less. but i guess we'll have to wait and see although i have a feeling if they brought it there it would sale just fine for a foreign taxed car.

>>
>>14443645
wow they even redesigned bumpers to fit our wide euro plates
>>
>>14441156
so the real problem has nothing to do with power, handling or even fit/finish with these cars in the europ market
it's the fucking price and taxes

in the US you can easily get out the door with 400+hp for ~30k new
that same car in the UK will be ~50k new and have twice the running costs and taxes

this increased price has nothing to do with ford and everything to do with european government view on emissions and taxation

this also puts cars like the mustang in the same price range as cars like the M3 which contributes to faggots
benchracing shit all the time
