Sup /o/, I'm thinking about selling my 06 rx-8 and getting a new car. I was pretty set on getting a 2010 Subaru WRX, but lately the 370z has been catching my eye. I'm pretty conflicted about which one to get. I like the AWD of the WRX but the 330 hp on the 370z is pretty nice.
TLDR; I cant choose a car under 20k to buy and need help.

Well i had only planned to tune the wrx to get 300 he but since the 370z already has 330 I don't think I'd tune it much if at all. Plus 370z are generally cheaper.

If the hp is the only reason you want a 370z then don't bother, you could easily get that out of the Subaru with a few mods and a tune. If you want a daily driver all weather car with a lot of practicality the the Subaru is the way to go.

its a 3.7l v6 with already 336hp (or even more now)
for $1-2k you can get it to over 300whp without forced induction, or you can go FI and get a turbo kit or a supercharger, there are lots of options.
from what I know it can handle over 400whp on stock internals as long as you upgrade injectors and pump

The 370Z is actually a decent sports car in a traditional sense of the word. It's manual, RWD and a 2 seater.
It's also pretty quick. Fairly light for this day and age. Especially if you get the LSD and nothing else model. IIRC, it's 300lbft car with 330hp. Unless you want a slow poke Miata or FRS, the 370Z is one of the lighter sports cars on the market.
The WRX is an unreliable, over hyped, 4WD Corolla. It's also an understeering pig. Driving fast in the WRX is trumping up to a corner, slamming on the breaks so that some weight transfer occurs and then hoping you don't understeer into a pole or a tire wall. When one drives a WRX fast on a paved road, they try to get it to act like a rear wheel drive car.
There's no finesse to that car at all.

If I had the money, I'd definitely get a 370z. Tork-y engine with a good chassis. Not only good for power but handling too.
You could literally spend under $10k on top of the price of the 370 and have a full out track capable 500hp drift machine, considering you make a small compromise with the brakes and just get better pads or something

The 370Z gets to 60 in under 5 seconds, and 1/4 in under 13.

I have a 2010 grand touring, it's a 6mt without the rev matching. It's fun to drive and its decently quick, takes corners well despite being a bit heavy for a 2 seater.
It's not the fastest thing you can buy and definatley not the slowest, I didn't buy the car to dick wave with other cars on the road. I bought it because it's fun to drive and I like the car.
The wrx is amazing too, especially with its awd. Its entirely up to you which you chose but I just stopped by to tell you to take everything on this automotive board with a grain of salt. A shitload of fucking salt.
