hi every/o/ne
I am in need of a reliable car, but then again something cheap. I love going fast tho.
I found a 2015 dodge dart SXT with 12k miles on it. The title is rebuilt, and hes asking 11k. Then I've looked around and they normally sell for 12k clean tittle. How much should i offer him for it? Thanks
>>

>The title is rebuilt
walk away
>>
>>14424545
why are rebuilt titles such a bad thing? buddy of mine got a prius rebuilt title w/ 50k on it now it has 130 no probs
>>
>>14424604
Tough to get off your hands when you go to sell it, also depends on why it has a rebuilt title
>>
Don't get a dart, that's a shit car.

Don't get a rebuilt title, unless you get that shit thoroughly inspected. It will still be a pain in the ass to sell.

For ~10k, you can get a much nicer car. Something like an 8th gen Accord, 3rd gen Focus or 2nd gen Mazda 6 with 50-75k miles on it.
>>
>>14424604
Darts are shit from the factory. You'd be buying a rebuilt piece of shit that was owned by someone dumb enough to total it already.
>>
>>14424649
Got hit at drivers quarter panel.
I just called him says still under warranty.
He seemed pretty firm at 10k, gonna go see the car tomorrow if i could lower the price. Any bargaining tactics ya'll got?

What the fucking fuck

>4banger shitmobile
>all those dollars

Ur not going to look cool driving this bro.

Also ur getting the utility of a 1K cavalier shitbox but paying top dollar for fuck ugly matte black rims.

Also I have done upwards of 20 Craigslist car deals and that is almost certainly a lemon

The dart is a piece of shit. I drove on, wanted to kill myself. You can get a focus ST used for a tiny bit more and have a way better car. I literally just drove it yesterday at the deal and it was fucking fantastic. I won't buy it but it was great.

And the salvage title is bad because you can't get full coverage and you'll never know EXACTLY what was damaged and how well it was repaired. It also kills resale.

Ok ok I'll walk ...maybe.
How much would you offer for this car?
(realistically) not 5 paypal cad dollars
>>
>>14424903
So all you need is an econobox.

NOTHING because its a shitty car and salvage. Don't offer ANYTHING. Why are you stuck on one of, literally, the worst cars being made right now.
>>
>>14424926
I would only consider it as a last resort at 3k.

First off, Darts are shit. I haven't even read the thread and I know someone else probably said that.

Second off you should never buy a rebuilt title for road use because:
1. Insurance companies will shit on you - especially because you're young. Ur rates will be doubly high.
2. The car isn't structurally sound. Which means if you crash - you die.
>>
Holy shit. /o/ just agreed on something.

Every single post in this thread told OP to walk the fuck away.

I owned a dart for 6 months and it was the worst 6 months of my life. I spent almost 6 grand on all the shit that went wrong because FCAs warranty is garbage and the dealerships are worse. Buy a used honda.

faml I don't know what your situation is because I kinda just skimmed over the thread, but for $10k you can get a lot of cars. if it has to be new and financed then you might have some problem, but nothing researching can't fix

All these people saying the Dart is shit but I'm here at 103k miles on my 2013 Dart Rallye turbo.

I haven't had to spend a dollar on anything more than routine maintenance. The things that I've had to have done under warranty are replacing the Bluetooth module and the passenger sun visor.

That said, fucking avoid a car with a salvage title unless it has crazy good documentation on the accident and repair, and if you have the ability to fix shit that might crop up. Also if you can afford to work hard to sell it and possibly take a loss on it.

If you're willing to learn/mod the car get a clean sc400/sc300 and save up for a manual swap down the road if you really need manual

Otherwise, get the comfiest and cleanest ls400 money can buy. Best DD by far, literally the only real expense to worry about is gas mileage and maybe upgrading your head unit/sound system. If you want to make the car unique and shitpost here about it, look into a VIP build for max comfy

Hmm let's see some general pointers

For a better price negotiate on the phone before you arrive not when you get there.

Make sure title transfer is by the book according to your state laws. Make sure car is insured for drive home.

Always start the car with the hood popped check everything for squeaks rattles warning lights etc.

Check everything if you are really cheap start pointing out flaws and broken shit that they didn't tell you about like lights power windows etc.

Check oil dip stick, oil cap, tranny fluid for unusual conditions (orange gunk on oil cap = kill)

If you can, drive the car on the highway up to at least 80 mph if the car starts shaking and rattling at 60-70 mph suspension is kill

Wait up to 20 minutes making small talk with the car running after test driving to check for seal leaks park on pavement

When you shift from park to drive if the car lurches forward violently transmission is kill

Instakill: knock in engine, salvage title, engine burning oil, frame/suspension rust those are the big ones pretty much everything else can be replaced for a moderate cost for shit Euro buckets check the timing chain setup when it was last serviced I know that can be a bitch

Look at the overall condition and what you estimate it will cost to get to to how you want it. Then, triple that number and ask yourself if you still want to invest in a clunker because that is what it will cost realistically after you find everything wrong with it

>Cheap

Being as "cheap" to you is something around 10k, get a used V6 Camry/Accord/Mazda 6. Or just go to Carmax and get the cheapest fastest thing they have and pay for their longest warranty.

> Something cheap
> 11k

If you want cheap, you're looking at something older than last year. Just buy a decent car that's a few years old, instead of a piece of shit made last year.
