How would an 07 TC (5spd) be for a first car? I found one near with 53k miles

also, general QTDDTOT
>>
>>14423987
terrible ride quality, can't say much about the rest of the car.

I personally did not like it.
>>
Depending on the price it is an okay car. It's not as sporty as the Civic Si. but for a 2 door, it is fairly practical, and has decent legroom for rear passengers, though headroom is somewhat limited due to the roofline. One important thing to look for is to see if it has had the oil consumption test preformed by a Toyota dealer, since it falls under the years covered by the warranty enhancement issued for the 2AZ-FE engines.
>>
>>14423987
I'd say it's a good first car. I'v heard the interior is pretty shit but they're reliable.
It's a standard transmission but doesn't have enough power to kill you.
Annnddd if you want to get into modding, I've seen some pretty dope TCs.
>>
>>14423987
It looks good
>>
>>14423987
It would be an excellent first car, reliable, looks good, "sporty" but easy to drive.
>>
>>14423987
i own one

Pros: pretty good mpgs
decent stock stereo with aux cord
I think it looks pretty decent
decent handling not much body roll
engine from a camry so reliable (check for oil burning as this is a common problem)

Cons: pretty slow, but again these cars arent sport cars so if you plan on trying to make it fast buy a different car
ride quality is shit, you hear everything on the outside and if you hit a bump you deffinetly will feel it, also the clutch feels spongey on all TCs (ive driven a few)
its FWD

overall its a pretty decent car if your looking for somthing reliable with a sporty feel and look. with 55k miles that car will run for a long long time

Civic Si feel sporty. In fact Si actually stands for sport injected.
So would you consider it a sports car? I wouldn't, but I'm not completely ignorant so I wouldn't say it doesn't feel sporty without ever driving one.

What do you define as a sports car.

anon are you saying that you cannot get a vibe from something unless it is specifically the something that gave you the standard for the vibe?
that's rather obtuse, how do you feel about sex with anybody other than your first?
it couldn't be sex if it wasn't that person, right?

the TC is a decent car, don't expect anything exemplary from it stock.
what do you want out of it? if you want cheap thrills, look elsewhere. a DD that looks (objectively) decent? yeah, you got it here.
heard they make great cars for babby's first tuner, but with Scion getting the axe that will probably dry up really fast.

Coming up with a Subaru build currently. Don't care about speed or power too much, but out of curiosity, would a cold air intake counter the hp lost by going from EL headers to UEL?
>>

probably not no.
>>
>>14426232

>>

>>Is the EL --> UEL header drop in hp more than the gain from CAI
assuming your n/a the drop will be hard to even notice. The CAI if it doesn't drop power will only gain 10hp at best

>>Is gaining and losing hp not that simple?
Very much so, if you get a "good" cai you will be leaning out after 5-5.5k rpm assuming you are running stock engine management.

>>Is there something i'm not considering?
EJ NA power is a pointless endeavor, start thinking of a swap. Listing your make/model/year/engine ect will help people give you good advice. "subaru build" is kinda vague.

Repair shop wants $2700 to fix BHPH car I got for $1200. Something about the crankshaft being out of whack and lifters and pistons, etc. I can't remember.

Do I just suck it up and take the financial hit by scrapping it and buying a different shitbox? I can't see anyone wanting to buy an '89 Beretta with a bad engine problem. Am I wrong?

I'm mad I got fucked by that BHPH place, engine tick started after just two weeks of having it.

Ohh, its fucking women? Shocking!

Seriously though, this is a woman's car and everyone will think you are a woman. They are pretty slow and handle like shit.. And the brand is officially dead. Buy something else.

Since this is a QTDDTOT...

I request your help, /o/.

Current gf has had a stable job for nearly a year and deems her typical basic white bitch mid 2000s yellow V6 Mustang too "unprofessional".

I get it, and I have helped friends in the past get reasonable cars for reasonable requests, but she's a special snowflake, of course.

She wants a convertible. She wants something newer than 2013 or so, and it has to have a "professional" vibe to it.

She test drove a 2015 Mustang Ecoboost Premium and was introduced to new cars quickly. She complained of how cramped the interior felt and the poor visibility with the top on.

Her family is pushing her to Audi, an A3 specifically. Because of her request I mentioned a G37 convertible.

Are there any decent cars in her checklist of needs/wants that's in her price range of around 25k? I'll take anything and send it her way after I take a gander myself.

Basically:
Convertible
"Cool"
"Professional"
2013+
~ $25k
Decent in maintenance. I'm not taking care of it so IDGAF, it's on her.

Thanks, /o/

>basing your purchase entirely on how you look in it or who buys it, or the relevancy of the brand
Don't worry about looking like a woman, you're already one.

Go for it, OP. Toyota reliability and build quality, decent features, easy on gas. You can't go wrong with it, just don't expect it to be too fast.

Today I checked my metro's coolant after driving around and letting it sit for 30minutes. The coolant level is legit 1cm in the reservoir. Is that a bit too low? I know I need to check when cold but I've never had a car have the reservoir so low after a drive.

Ok /o/ I'm at my wits end on this. Trying to hunt down where to get more of a particular set of gloves.

Pic related is the design. Your usual "mechanic's style" gloves, however the palm and knuckle band of material across the top are goatskin leather. They lasted me forever and finally wore out and I haven't been able to find them again.

The label say "fortress" and the logo is basically a goat skull.

If I even knew where they came from it'd be nice but they just more or less showed up in my tool box one day. if I can get my computer and camera to play nice I can post an actual photo of them or well what's left of them after the fingers wore out and I cut those off.

Looking for a first car too, budget $5-6k or so.
I'm trying to get into enthusiasm so I'm looking for something pretty sporty and powerful (obviously nothing great considering the budget).
Any decent ideas? I'm not really sure how to look, but I'm looking at a prelude or a celica right now (mostly due to the sticky).

Thanks guys; sorry for the nooby question too

A few an/o/ns will always say:

"Shut up and buy a Civic"

A Civic Si will go a long way. Not my cup of tea, but do some research. The mid 2000s had some great hatch's with a great shifter placement (pic related).

Another FWD honorable mentions to consider is an Acura RSX.

RWD? Miata, 300ZX/350Z, early G35.
AWD? WRX.

Again, do some research. That's the fun in looking for something to buy!

VW has some newer cars that are convertible only, I forget if it's the CC or the Eos though.
Tbh, an Audi might be pretty good for her, maybe one of those Lexus convertibles (though I myself hate convertibles and hate hardtop convertibles with even more passion)

Does it have to be 2/4 seat? Could it be a TT?
Give us a bit more specific, what kind of job is she trying to give a professional aura at?
