Ford (the entire brand) has officially left the Japanese market. Now Japan can know how it feels to not get things.

Toyota respect Ford's decision and will honorably leave the US market.

oh no. those 12 ford owners will be horrified.

lucky Japan has good import laws. So people that want fords can still get them from Australia.
>>
You realize that the only products Ford makes that are worth owning (Mustang, F150) aren't really that common in Japan? They are losing out on unreliable econo-shitboxes.

And this is Japan.

They have an endless supply of RELIABLE, econoboxes to drive around.

Literally nothing of value was lost at all. Anyone who still wants a Mustang will just import one, if they can afford the emissions taxes they can afford to import one.
>>

Honda is basically the same as Toyota now anyway.

Toyota literally does everything every other major automaker does, only better.

ITT Americans trying to claim victory for pulling put of a market they had almost zero profit in.

Haha, Americans just can't export. I don't even get how fucking retarded they are. They have to buy other brands to get anywhere and even then they somehow mangle that up.

Americans return to comfort sphere because they can't handle the jandle more at 11

I know they've always made some FWD shitboxes like the 1 and 2, but even the most basic, entry level 3 series is still RWD.

Do you think they'll eventually give in to the cuckening and make the 3, 5, and 7 series FWD turdmobiles?

It's more a matter of heritage. The selling points of a BMW were the godly inline 6 engines and rear wheel drive. Now it's just the badge as the Bavarians cave into emissions cuckery.
>>
>>14423084
Oh? Right because gm/ford taking it up the ass and proceeding to "one ford" back into the cheezeburger sphere has anything to do with ford au or ford EU.

Both ford au and ford EU were still profitable, even when you crybabies needed a government bailout because you got ruthlessly destroyed by the japs in your home market.

Ford amerca has never understood any market other than burger and fries. Itvwas painfully obvious when you looked at the press releases areound the bailout

From Autocar:

>Our friends in Japan tell us that Ford is not a popular brand for general drivers in the same way that it is in Europe. It is felt that Ford made a persistent strategic blunder when it came to its Japanese sales strategy: ahigh performance image is the first thing that comes to Japanese drivers when they think of imported cars but Ford kept on introducing general-purpose models. Thatmeant that Ford failed to find the same kind of favour in Japan as some rivals.Renaultin Japan, for example, has elevated its brand value because it introduced severalRenaultsportmodels.

Seems like Ford made a mistake should have just sold high perfomance cars instead.
Also:

>reported by Reuters to have sold fewer than 5000 cars in 2015

>>14423407
>only offering shit tier mobiles
Good, fuck them.

Ford did the same shit when they introduced the Mustang in Europe. They only brought the 4-cylinder model.

Fiesta ST, Focus ST and Mustang

That holy trinity, Ford, is all you would have needed.

Maybe with an imported aussie ute and falcon to go with it.

Contrary to popular belief, there is a pretty fair sized group in Japan that loves old murrican muscle, GTOs and Mustangs have cult popularity there. There's even some japs that like the big Chevy suburbans.

So how do the americans reach out to Japan?

>Hot hatches to appeal to the Civic and AE86 fags
>V8 pony cars to appeal to the musclefags
>falcon to appeal to people that like muscle and comfort (not a huge market in Japan but it could do well against BMW imports)
>ute to appeal to the wierder people who have a fetish for V8 truck type vehicles

And that is how Ford of Japan could become a respectable import brand
>>
>>14423102
>Fiesta ST is an unreliable little shitbox that devours its own clutch, literally nothing worth mentioning about that fucking trash heap of a car.

Where the fuck is this meme even coming from? There are only a few reports of it happening, always to very early cars, and Ford replaced them all under warranty. I've had my FiST for 2 years and 35,000 miles and the only issues I've had have been brake pad wear and the SYNC system deciding not to take voice commands for a week once.
>>

>>
>>14424166
>Hot hatches to appeal to the Civic and AE86 fags
japan is home of hot hatches and ford already had offerings in the market

>V8 pony cars to appeal to the musclefags
if anyone wants a v8 in japan they import it. having them sold domestically through a dealer network is far from financially viable and would only send ford backwards with all the changes that need to be made

>falcon to appeal to people that like muscle and comfort (not a huge market in Japan but it could do well against BMW imports)
>ute to appeal to the wierder people who have a fetish for V8 truck type vehicles
again, the people that want them import them.

you really should stop pretending to be a supreme international business man from your behind your cheeto covered keyboard
>>
>>14422972
Wow.

I had no idea, but now that I think about it it makes some sense. They just don't buy big cars over there and certainly no "trucks".

Sports cars like the V8 Mustang though are another story. Japanese manufacturers can't compete with that but sales of those aren't enough to carry the whole manufacturer in those countries. Wow...
>>
>>14422972

that and they don't sell any ST/RSs in Japan unless imported from UK/AUS market

Who cares if Ford left Japan. Japan has Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Dihatsu. They don't need Ford. Anything Ford releases over there will already be covered by their existing companies that make everything that fits best within their market.

The only thing that Ford fits into is that very small niche of people that like the big American V8-powered performance car and the roomy and comfortable luxobarge, and if they really want one they can import one.

Ford works best here where the taxman doesn't have stupidly strict displacement and size taxes, much like how Dihatsu works best in places where the taxman runs wild.
