Except you can clearly see there's no differential between the front wheels, and there are driveshafts going to the rear wheels.
The gear shifter is up front because that's where the driver is, and it's connected to the transmission via linkages.

You can SEE the wheels are connected. You can't see some of it because, for whatever reason, the seats cover up the rest of the drive shaft. You can clearly see the rear wheels aren't attached to the transmission, and it's way too far forward to be connected to them anyway.
